Full Disclosure: I was gifted a copy of the game for testing purposes and did not receive additional compensation in any way. Here is my review below. Initially I thought, "The Crimping"? What a strange name, that said, it makes sense later on. The Crimping is a short, but fun, campy, story driven linear horror experience. It is based on the Shanghai Tunnels in Portland, Oregon which were a series of underground tunnels used to transport goods (and maybe other things) from the downtown business area to the Willamette River without the use of the city streets. That said I didn't really know about all of this prior to playing the game. So if a short spooky story with great graphics, some fun characters and dialogue and learning a bit about history sound good to you, you should pick up The Crimping and give it a try. I am looking forward to more content from this creator in the future. Thank you for the fun experience, I enjoy supporting small, independent creators on their journeys and I think they are the lifeblood of the gaming industry.
剧情不错 但是太长了没中文看的太累啦 我就玩了20分钟不玩了
I had the pleasure of beta testing this game and I have to say - the fact that Mama Makes Games got this done in one month is pretty astounding. I played it on stream and we honestly had a great time with it. The AI voices added some silly sort of charm to the game. Definitely recommend for a quick trip into a bizarre world.
i played this game! The graphics were beautiful, I recommend anyone that is interested about trying new horror games and puzzles looking for hints, it has story of a forever love, and the Sad events, i can see it has great potential and more ideas coming so try it and you wont be disappointment.
This is a fun horror game with detailed graphics and a story line based on a real life event. The game's narrative is filled with surprises that keep you asking...what next.
I played this on stream and my community loved it! The campiness of this game is what truly makes it! Thank you for both the laughs and the scares, I enjoyed every second of this. I think you should make more campy horror games, the indie genre needs more of them.
Je viens de réaliser que j'ai oublié d'évaluer ce jeu ! Très bon petit jeu d'horreur, fait par 1 seule personne en peu de temps, vraiment GG. Et y'a mon nom dans les crédits en tant que beta tester hehe
This game was a fun romp with good scares. Currently campaigning for a Shirley dating sim DLC.
Fantastic game with humour you never knew a horror game needed. Highly recommend you check this out for yourself
Received a code as a Beta Tester from Mama Makes Games. * The overall setting wasn't too bad. I don't know if they used pre-made assets or made their own, but they weren't half bad. It was based on a true story, so that added to the atmosphere they were trying to go for. It was described as a 'campy horror game', so there's that. * As far as horror games go, I did find it a bit lacking in the horror aspect. They were not so much as "scary thing happens that makes me jump", but more along the lines of "I'm doing something or reading/checking something and a sudden shrill noise startles me". * The voice acting was.... yeah. It sounded really robotic and unnatural. I was told that AI-generated voices were used for the characters, but it was something that they were experimenting with to see how it works (and also cheaper than hiring voice actors). They said they may hire some VA later, so I'm not going to hold it against them. Some parts of the dialogue are.. cringy to say the least. Let's just leave it at that. * It could do with being a bit longer. Was told it would take about 2 hours or so to beat, did it in about 40 mins (and that was with me screwing around with a mini-game for about 5 mins). Maybe try to flesh out more story, or include more backstory to the location. Also, give your character a name. As of now, you're just an unnamed cousin. OVERALL ---------- It could use some work. Like I said, flesh out more story, expand on it some more to make it longer, add more 'horror' aspects to it, and maybe get actual voice actors. But all in all, it wasn't too bad. It's not the best indie-horror game I've played, but I've also played far worse than this.
