The Castles of Dr. Creep

Well, I remeber playing this way back when i had a C64. Bought instantly. So many memories of playing this with my long gone friend came flooding back, the nostalgia was so strong i could almost taste the hubba bubba and smell the caps from our guns. thank-you so much for making this, from the bottom of my heart. You have made my year.

This is a very faithful port of what was (in my humble opinion) the best puzzle game of the 8-bit era. I loved to play it on my C64 back in the 1980s, and it holds up very well today! What distinguished The Castles of Dr. Creep from other puzzlers of the era is that each screen is not an independent level: As you move from screen to screen to explore the castle, often what you do in one area affects another area. The level design is intricate and brilliant. Success takes careful observation, and even when you work out the solution it can take a while to traverse. Warning however, this is not a game that holds your hand and wants you to win. It is a genuine challenge so be prepared!

This is one of fondest memories in gaming from my childhood, an amazingly simple puzzler that can get very complex to solve. While none of the castles are impossible to solve in single player mode, most are much easier to solve cooperatively with a friend. Now there's only two things that would make me much happier with this. One is for network play to be incorporated for two player games, and the other is to add the castles from the sequel, Dungeons of Dr. Creep. Even without these though, this is a game that can take up hours alone, and more time with friends.
