The Campsite does a good job of making use of it's short run time. It has a very comfy feel to it and I love the setting. It has some pretty straightforward puzzles that for the most part are logical. I will give it credit for having a unique Morse code puzzle. I did ind the use of the stake to be a bit weird. I like how it allows you to highlight things that can be clicked on but makes it optional. It satisfies both spectrums of puzzle gamer. The graphics are alright but pixel art games are always a tough one to grade as they are meant to be low detail to start with. The music is well done. I do wish that the handling of the text was different. While you can pause the game or skip the text it will almost always continue without stopping. I wish there had of been an option to set it to only advance text manually. There isn't a ton of story here but what there is was enjoyable and worked well. I played The Campsite on Linux. It never crashed and I didn't notice any spelling errors or other glitches. There are no graphics options at all. The save system is one that saves on exit from the game and overwrites the same one save file each time. I would have preferred a manual save system with multiple slots although given the short run time it wasn't a huge deal. Performance was great but given the visual detail it should be. I finished it in forty five minutes. It is free of charge but even with a price tag of $5 I’d still recommend it. Short and free point-and-click adventure. It didn't start well with being stuck on one screen, not able to talk to the other characters and progress relying on finding a hidden hotspot. It got slightly better after that despite needing to find non-obvious hotspots and not being able to converse with the others again. I saw the story "twist" coming a mile away. Later on, there was a long scene where I couldn't do anything, just watch. It was boring and didn't need to drag on. In fact, I'd evaluate about one third of my playthrough, if not more, was spent watching non-interactive scenes. It's not because it's free that it should get a free pass. A disappointment.
This review will be written in Catalan, because unfortunately Steam does not recognise Catalan as a language yet. But we are working to change that. If you want, you can read the review in English in our group forum: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/catalantranslation/discussions/1/ Un videojoc de l'estil de Powers in the Basement ha tornat en una recreació més curta i més senzilla però amb el mateix esperit. If you like this review and want to help us with our objective, please join us! http://steamcommunity.com/groups/catalantranslation
Cute, short, point and click adventure style game, about 3 kids camping. The plot is quite good, has some thriller-like scenes that got me hooked, but the ending is nice The puzzles are not hard, though you have to hover the scenes carefully to search for interactable items. Worth to play, 10/10!
Absolute gem of a game that can be completed in under an hour. The soundtrack with the marching song was really cute and everything was made by one person Guillem Espias. What an amazing experience this is one of the best and hilarious games about kids making a campfire crashing a car and using walkie talkies to communicate Morse code. Would recommend everyone play it since it is free and there is also a guide for all the achievements.
Achievements don't work correctly in the most recent version. You have to download an older version to get them: download_depot 3335060 3335061 6276794391164359092 edit: apparently fixed on the 16th of February 2026.
This is a fun game that hearkens back to my childhood of playing games like monkey island. I love a good point and click adventure!
The pixel art is nice, the point and click gameplay is standard. However, the story itself is pointless and leads nowhere, so you’d be wasting your time with this game. Hopefully the creator can use his game dev skills for a legitimate point and click in the future.
