[h1]Enjoyable & well-made - a true hidden gem of a game![/h1] If you like [i]Choose Your Own Adventure[/i] books/games, you [i]must[/i] try this one. There is a choice to be made on every screen, and those choices can lead to vastly different outcomes and yield vastly different storylines. To get the full experience (and to understand the real story), multiple playthroughs are needed. However, each playthrough is never tedious, because you discover new things and start to figure stuff out. It took me around 4-5 hours to get most of the endings, including the "true" ending of the game (which was pretty ingenious btw). Despite the simple-looking interface, the game does a pretty great job of immersing you in the environment it creates through good writing, smooth narration, nicely-done character artwork, and, for the most part, convincing voice acting (aside from the little girl's fake screams, everyone else was excellent, especially the game's developer himself, Michael Pulis, as the Cloaked Man). The genre is horror, and you really do feel the uneasy, tense atmosphere in some locations. There is also variety: the game contains mini puzzles, a very well-done QTE [i](didn't think it was possible with Unity but this game proved me wrong!)[/i], and an RPG-type battle. And of course you have your regular adventure game puzzle-solving, with hints provided in the bits of story you uncover. All in all this was an extremely fun experience with very high replayability. If you're looking for a short little adventure game to play, The Book of Regrets is a good pick. It plays like a visual novel but with a little more interaction. These interactions could be cleaned up and explored more but I still found them refreshing. The visuals are pretty good but could be polished a little more. Same goes for the story. While I enjoyed playing it and feel that the game is fair for its price, the story felt a little unfulfilling. I left the game still wondering why I was there to begin with? And maybe that is the point, is that there was no point but to survive and find a way out. Definitely an interesting game. I believe there are a few different outcomes- I only found one but realized there were some things I was not able to achieve. I like that there are options and it can play out differently. Мрачная визуальная новелла с элементами квеста. В «The Book of Regrets» наша задача выжить и найти выход из подземелья. Для этого придется не только вести разветвленные диалоги, выбирать путь из нескольких вариантов, но и взаимодействовать с окружением. В игре присутствуют элементы квеста: придется искать и использовать предметы, решать загадки, складывать пазлы. Небольшая, но интересная игра. Хорошие арты, качественное звуковое сопровождение и закрученный сюжет. Концовка игры зависит от вашего выбора. Поэтому поиски выхода могут привести к разным результатам. Чтобы открыть все достижения игру придется проходить не один раз.

用了一个半小时通关了一次，这游戏短小精悍不过需要重复玩多遍的，反正我只解开了14个成就。地图虽然拿到了，但还有一个房间钥匙没到手。 这游戏就是以解密的形式收集道具，最后开那个金色大门打死亡天使，道具有攻击属性和回血的。迷宫里柱子的数字有控制室其中一个道具的密码，迷宫一直左转就有东西拿，用刀割开那些蜘蛛丝会有31号房，里面的蜘蛛让我和平协商解决了。火炉间里的怪物可以引诱到火炉里面烧掉，按对了很简单的qte就可以。还有连续按错3次密码的话会有警报，还出来一堆树叶，树叶那里有个提示，输了密码能拿一张色色的纸片，不知道有啥用。 总体来说还行，过些日子再过几遍，把没解的也走一遍。

Not a bad hidden gem. I definitely enjoyed myself figuring out each ending. The story of the game is pretty good, and I loved the various endings. The price tag isn't too bad, considering the kind of game you're getting. There were some slight bugs I noticed in the game, but they didn't appear that often and usually only if I was spamming the space button too quickly in certain areas. The fight scene in the end was a bit annoying, although it does add a bit something else to the gameplay. The puzzles in-game are way too easy, so if you're looking for hard puzzles, you won't find them in this game. However, the bulk of the game was figuring out what choices you should/shouldn't make, so the puzzles weren't much focus anyway (I think there are only 2 puzzles in-game). Overall: I definitely recommend trying out this game!
