About
It looks like chess, it feels like an idle game, but it plays like: "How do I even optimize this?". Forget upgrades that give 5% here and 10% there, this new take on incremental games forces you to actually think about the perks you buy and adapt how you play in consequence.
Buy squares of the board, chess pieces, and place your pieces to generate resources.
Focus way too hard on seemingly unsolvable optimization problems and question your sanity.
Go grab a coffee. Maybe take a nap.
Come back to billions and invest in upgrades to gain more.
Stack prestige perks and restart with new ways to gain even more. Always more.
And repeat, until the board belongs to you.
Enjoy incremental games and know about chess
Like to solve "how far can I push this?" challenges
Appreciate when upgrades are meaningful and entirely change how you play and think about the game
Don’t mind restarting runs to test new ideas
Are just looking for a couple of hours swinging between despair and satisfaction
Want a low-effort idle game you can ignore in the background
Don't like diving deep into dense stats tooltips
Get upset when some official chess rules are missing from a chess-inspired game
Expect a profound story, dialogue, cinematic cutscenes, or a battle pass
I built this game to see how far I could push strategic thinking in an incremental game. Well, I think the honest answer is: a bit too far. Mixing these genre was definitely a strange idea, but I hope some of you will enjoy picking systems apart and finding disgusting optimizations. I'm genuinely curious to see what you'll do with it.

TL;DR It's a really fun and snappy incremental game! I recommend trying the demo first because there's a very convenient and useful reward for beating it. A video game adaptation of the classic logic puzzle / warning about the dangers of math? More likely than you'd think! This game has a lot of fun ideas, and while I'm not perfect at it I'm picking things up as I go. It provides a pretty unique spin on incremental setups by making expansion... Not exactly discouraged, but much more tactical? Just blindly buying upgrades because they're available might actually hurt you immensely, which fits with the game's chess conceit by making you think ahead. Good for anybody who is up for a very click-and-think oriented kind of progression game.
Nice Strategic idle game
Science has gone too far. They made an idle game you can speedrun. and I don't mean like manually clicking a billion cookies or spending a thousand real dollars on adventure capitalist, I mean there are breakpoints for prestiging and optimal board layouts at each point and discoveries to be made.
The most enjoyable incremental game I have played recently. Its complexity is a batch of fresh air in an otherwise far too simplistic genre. There is a free demo, and if you are doubting whether you would like it or not, playing it would help you far more than reading reviews, in my opinion. The full game is the logical extension of the demo. The inclusion of an optimizer in the early game is perhaps my favorite part of the game, even if it has to be disabled later on due to how long it would take to calculate. It tricks your brain into looking for the optimal setup when it's still somewhat manageable, and as it isn't that easy even with a dozen tiles and half as many pieces, it trains you into spending the entire game looking for better solutions. In this regard it is a very active idler, without falling into the trap of mindlessly clicking buttons for higher output. No, it demands that you both think about what upgrades you have and plan which tiles to buy, but also a bit of luck. You will be moving pieces extraneous to your strategy to see if moving them around gives you a better number. And they do! They truly do! Sometimes a seemingly unimportant pawn will double your output when moving it to an innocent-looking tile. I love that! Though, truth be told, it might be because I'm horrible at bringing all these things together. It's completely deterministic, meaning you could theoretically find the most optimal position for everything without taking so many shots in the dark, but that becomes more difficult with every tile and piece you purchase, so good luck with that. There are, however, a few QoL issues I could mention. You can save the position of the whole board (with up to three simultaneous saved boards) to experiment but come back to what you saved if it doesn't go well. These saved boards, however, are erased on prestige and when restarting the game, which is a little annoying, but understandable. One might buy different tiles on prestige, after all. What is a bit more annoying is placing the pieces on the board after a prestige. You have to manually drag and drop every single piece from the side of the board, where you buy them, onto the tile you want to place it. I think this could be remedied by allowing faster placing with key binds, where each type of piece is a number (pawn is 1, knight is 2, bishop is 3, etc), and when pressing it the game automatically places them on whichever tile the cursor is on. Bonus points if this automatically buys pieces when affordable. Just my thoughts, this is a very easy system to implement. It is a very minor issue on a good game. Overall, my heartfelt congratulations to the developer(s) for making this wonderful game. It is both intuitive and nigh impossible to optimize, and it pains me to see it have such a small release, as it is a beautiful hidden gem.
Great mix of chess and idle game mechanics. Never overstays its welcome, never actually leans on grinding, and each upgrade clearly builds on prior ideas. Pretty easy to finish within ~6-7 hours, which is a good sweet spot for the genre. (I started with the demo and used the special code so my playtime is short.) I wouldn't hate seeing a sequel provide mutually exclusive upgrades or mechanics where the player chooses how each piece functions each restart. Maybe using opposition pieces to create unique puzzle setups as well. All in all, great indie title, well worth the extremely reasonable price.
Really great idle game with optimisation mechanics that are very satisfying and always leaves you thinking "I think I can do better - maybe if I just move this piece here and that piece there and..." and suddenly it's hours later. For the price it's absolutely unbeatable. If you've read this far, I'd say just grab it and try it - you'll love it.
Hikayesi olmayan.
