About
A peaceful land has been overtaken by the dark wizard Cormac. Countless horrors hunt and kill those who try to escape. It is up to Edward, the captain of the guard, to defeat Cormac and save the kingdom.
Your quest begins just outside the castle walls in the graveyard. The wizard waits for you at the tallest tower. Fight your way to the top of the castle and save the kingdom from Cormac!

As you climb to the top of the Keep, you’ll face zombies, vampires, and other creatures that lurk in the darkness. Use crossbows, shotguns, or even a rocket launcher to dispose of them!

Juliet, a sorceress loyal to the king (or maybe just a certain knight in armor) will assist Edward on his journey. She can upgrade your abilities and sell you items or even help you craft weapons!

The Bleakest Keep is a highly replayable game. Test your skills and earn ranks based on your performance. Challenge yourself by aiming for higher ranks and faster times as you climb the Keep and defeat Cormac! Completing some challenges will unlock new outfits for Edward and Juliet!

Slay the Minotaur was good but this is such a step up that it floored me. The combat system is one of the best I've experienced in an indie game, chaining melees, blocks, & shots together feels so fluid & satisfying. Knockback & dismemberment are euphoric. The texture jittering bothers me, I've never liked it despite the PS1 being one of my first consoles. I also had a crash on the elevator after the spider boss. The Greatsword feels like it clips through enemies sometimes & the Old Pistol similarly can miss at point blank range. Juliet cheering Edward along is really endearing & boosts player willpower to press on. What a great game. Unarmed best weapon. Updating this review to include the post-game content. I like Survival mode & the large character roster is awesome but the ranks are absurdly difficult. I was reaching 2:30 times on Juliet with like 3 hits taken & still getting C ranks. It would be fantastic for the other characters to be playable in the main game as well. Gwen is an aggravating ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boss with way too many moves. I get that she's supposed to be a mirror to Edward but she isn't fun to fight on top of sometimes requiring multiple run restarts to even get a chance to try again. The rocket launcher move in particular is ridiculous since it can one shot you. I've made it all the way to Gwen taking 2 hits total & got wiped from the stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rocket.
The game could use me level randomness for my liking but over all a good game and a good way to spend an hour
Game crashes on startup for me. Haven't gotten it to work in 6 moths.

Very charming and fun game to play. Very excited to see what Cache of Bones comes up with next. Hope to see even more costumes or native mod support perhaps in the future?
its fun just annoying due to me being bad at the game
As someone who enjoyed slay the minotaur, I enjoy this. The only complain I have is the UI, it feels so clunky and bad. At first it felt a bit too fast paced for me compared to the more slower experience in STM, but I eventually got used to it.
mmmhm
Good game but GOTH MOMM--
