About
A peaceful land has been overtaken by the dark wizard Cormac. Countless horrors hunt and kill those who try to escape. It is up to Edward, the captain of the guard, to defeat Cormac and save the kingdom.
Your quest begins just outside the castle walls in the graveyard. The wizard waits for you at the tallest tower. Fight your way to the top of the castle and save the kingdom from Cormac!

As you climb to the top of the Keep, you’ll face zombies, vampires, and other creatures that lurk in the darkness. Use crossbows, shotguns, or even a rocket launcher to dispose of them!

Juliet, a sorceress loyal to the king (or maybe just a certain knight in armor) will assist Edward on his journey. She can upgrade your abilities and sell you items or even help you craft weapons!

The Bleakest Keep is a highly replayable game. Test your skills and earn ranks based on your performance. Challenge yourself by aiming for higher ranks and faster times as you climb the Keep and defeat Cormac! Completing some challenges will unlock new outfits for Edward and Juliet!

I saw this game showcased on a steam dumpster diving video and it caught my attention. I thought it “looked cool” (certainly no other reason…) And I expected to maybe get 2 or 3 hours of dumb fun out of it before forgetting about it entirely. Clearly, based on my in game hours, that was not the case. This game certainly has a clunky exterior and seems a bit shallow at first, but once you get into it there’s a surprising level of depth, and a challenging yet rewarding gameplay loop while still managing to keep that satisfying level of simplicity. It’s very atmospheric and once you get the hang of how the game handles it’s super addictive. This game is HARD, or maybe I’m just bad, but that’s part of what I love about it, because at no point does it ever feel too unfair. I don’t even mind that it’s not super balanced, because I feel the game is constantly expecting you to adapt. For the price it’s well worth it if you’re into challenging action rougelikes. Also yeah yeah, I like the pretty goth woman with the large breasts, I won’t deny it, we all love Juliet in this house.
Honestly it's just ok, a pretty basic rougelike. The enemies like the vampires are kinda annoying, almost everyone ragdolls you, pretty difficult overall but also very basic. Survival mode is way better imo than the standard mode. Also needs a soundtrack, there was one in the trailer but no music at all in the game.
i have no idea why so many people like this game honestly. It does live up to its name though, it's bleak, empty and slow
A pretty fun yet short game. Wish there was more randomization in the stages and maybe more ways to "power-up" with the stats (such as the speed and attack speed) without compromising the difficulty of the game, but for what it is it's already quite fun. I've also played the dev's other game, Slay the Minotaur, and both play very similarly. Beat the game in just 5.8 hrs apparently, so difficulty wasn't so bad as soon as you figure out the enemies (I used the obvious range comp, aka the mace, with parry). Juliet is obviously fanservice but I don't really mind. The honesty is actually refreshing lol
There is no such music in game
I love this game. Simple action and controls. A really pretty goth lady. Something you can pick up and play real quick. Two gripes, the PS1 graphics and lighting need some fine tuning. The post processing effects cloud things up a bit and it's a little dark. Other than that, great game.
This is a game that is unfortunately more fun to watch someone play then to play yourself. Do yourself a favor and just watch a youtuber play this, playing it yourself is just boring and extremely tedious.
I came here to see the goth mommy trader, I actually found a pretty cool game. Only thing I wish the devs would add is a soundtrack, I rather choose to not listen to an OST than not have one to begin with. Also wish you could marry the goth mommy.
