The Amateur Deity Society

Went in expecting some kind of desktop sim, got a charming puzzle-mystery point-and-click adventure that went places I didn't expect. I don't want to spoil the story so I shan't elaborate on that aspect, but the writing is this game is very strong and character-focused, and I felt very invested in making sure my favourites got a good ending. The UI and mechanics thereof felt intuitive, and the puzzles and solutions made sense and felt satisfying. As someone who likes to listen to my own music while playing games, the bring-your-own-music model is also highly appreciated.

A VN by someone who actually knows how to write. Compelling characters, intriguing story, neat puzzles, good prose, and it cracked me the ♥♥♥♥ up, too. Solid rec.

Very interesting plot, well written and with good balance between the funny/slice of life parts and the philosophical themes. The "point and click" interactive parts are simple but fun. All in all it's a little narrative gem and I'd like to see more stories like this from the author.

A tight, well-written story that was more than worth the $5 it cost to play. The only game good enough to compel me to write a review despite being on Steam forever. I absolutely adore it. Go play this game!

This is an excellent short science fiction story worthy of PK ♥♥♥♥ in his prime, as such there's almost nothing you can say about it that wouldn't spoil the experience. Imagine SOMA but you play as all the main characters and Simon isn't aggravatingly stupid.

Cleanly developed point and click adventure with a fun story... you should definitely read A Tale of Two Cities until the end (or not). I hope that everyone enjoys playing this game as much as I did. Robert put a lot of work into this game and is a dedicated and responsive developer; I'm looking forward to watching his game dev work continue. Lovely little piece of interactive fiction. Vaguely reminiscent of 13 Sentinels.

Really charming little Point and Click with a very unique aesthetic! Love the early 90's PC interface, and the *fully functional* text editor contained inside, that was neat. Visual novels rely heavily on solid writing to be enjoyable, and Amateur Deity society definitely delivers on that front. The main plot about a bunch of kids discovering what it means to play god over other beings is meaningful and gets pretty wild (in the best way) towards the end, and the wry wit throughout is hilarious. Was a great Friday night play - highly recommend checking it out for yourself! :)
