The Allure Of Wanton Cove

Well written and illustrated erotic game with Lovecraftian monsters. May turn off people who don't like futa/gender transform scenes, though.

Genuinely the only bad thing about this game is that there aren't enough like this in the genre of what I'll call eldritch smut. The game is long enough to justify the price with good replay-ability to get different, hot scenes. It just sucks that once you've played through it a bunch, there's not enough other games to keep quenching that thirst.

Overall I would say this is a pretty good Lovecraftian infused H game. The story is well written and interesting, and I found myself quickly committing to a playthrough. The art is good, the music and sound design are good, at times it can be appropriately creepy and overall I have enjoyed my time. There are a few cons I want to address. Sometimes art does not match the text, such as the main character being described as having brown hair but the portrait has white hair. Many events in the game seem to be heavily rng based. Like getting invited into Lady Anne's home to be able to ask her questions. Just keep going back and forth between areas and eventually you'll see her. There doesn't seem to be anything in particular that triggers it. Random encounters seem to be the only way to get money, not all encounters give money though, and it really doesn't give enough. I can't find out what certain traits even do, like security. And other points in the game do not give you any kind of check. One major event you get no check for is talking to Morichi about his family. He will only speak to you about it at all if you have an etiquette of 8. But he will not introduce you to his daughter unless you have an etiquette of 12. This is not at all relayed to the player, and you have no way of changing or increasing stats once the game has started. Overall it is a good game though I feel it needs a few quality of life updates. I also really wish the Necronomicon had actual artwork to look at too.

Few adult games have gripped me quite like this one did, I don't know if it was the aesthetic or if it was the plot but I was hooked and I wasn't ready for it to be over when it was, especially as I kept regularly saving so I knew where I could go back to in order to get the other ("Good") ending, and I want to preface this by saying that neither of the two endings is especially good, both are pretty weird, but one's definitely more bleak than the other. If I have one complaint it's that there is a lot of RNG in this which does make it feel like you're playing a TTRPG, and whilst that's not an inherently bad thing I did find that I was struggling for money, health and ammo, especially ammo. There's a part in the game where you need to buy a tool from the shop to clear away a path, and when saving for that you're having to get into fights to get gold, and when you get into fights you get hurt, a lot, and then you need potions, at one point I was running at a deficit and was actively LOSING money on my attempts to gain money for that damned tool. A buff for money would've been a huge help. It my sound towards the end that i'm being incredibly negative, but i'm not trying to, it's a niggle and frequent saves can overcome it, you owe it to yourself to give this one a go - it's really good beyond the typical sex plots.

a massive waste of time. the story is presented as if your choices matter or could change the outcome, i didn't see anyway to change anything. the ending is massively unsatifying and pointless.
