The client is drop-dead gorgeous. Her father is just plain dead—of an apparent suicide. She's certain he was murdered and is willing to do anything to prove it.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Aug 21 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

2043... er, 2037... wait... 2031. San Francisco, New California. Tex Murphy flashes back to the dirty future as he regals a beautiful blonde with his tale out of time... Retelling his first foray with new details & in FMV; only somehow setting it 2 years before it actually happened. Whether or not the story makes any sense, the videos contain some actual set pieces, now, to go with the CGI -- and the interface is something new & improved, with a functional-but-clunky first person control scheme. ...♥♥♥♥ gets weird when you've had a microchip shoved into your cerebellum for 10 years... er, 4 years... or, is it 12 years?... It's clunky, with a lot of trial & error -- and like the previous two FMV entries, it never quite delivers on its supposed neo-noir setting & tone. It was made for DVD, so there's plenty of plot there to befuddle anyone with the constitution to give it a concentrated effort.
this version of the game came with some bugs, however with alittle help from the comments worked through all of them. Tex Murphy games hold a sense of nostalgia, if youre an 80s kid you will likely enjoy this game.

All good. A fun addition to the Tex Murphy series, but not my favorite. 1) Under a Killing Moon 2) Pandora Directive 3) Overseer This one has some good puzzles tho - if you're into that sort of thing. And i am.

this is the best of the old tex murphy adventures. I made it work on windows 10 64 bit. to do so, download ffdshow and make sure you check most of the boxes in ffdshow . especially mpeg 1 and 2 and libavoedec. the game will play well except for occasional bad outlines on doors in cabinets etc. but the actors and the cut shots are excellent. also, choose midi in audio preferences. there may be some something better than ffdshow but I did not look that way. You will not get full screen but that did not bother me. the game is long and sometimes the puzzles are hard, but that is what adventure games are all about. good luck.
Quel dommage, les vidéos ne fonctionnent pas et le son non plus. Ce jeu ne fonctionne pas sous windows 11. J'aurais bien aimé re-découvrir ce jeu.
I spend over 2 hours trying to get this game to work, even using AI to try to speed things along, but besides the opening mpegs it just doesn't seem to want to function. Anything that takes this long to fix really shouldn't be recommended. However, after they're done doing to Killing Moon Remaster (AN ACTUAL REMASTER, THIS OVERSEER IS NOT THE REMASTER), and then they'll likely follow up with a Pandora Directive Remaster and then the Overseer Remaster, but that could take years. I suggest waiting for that or until they patch this one.
This game is a classic. These games were the first of its kind back in the day. For people complaining, this is almost a 30 year old game. Show some respect for "Tex Murphy" MFR
Tex Murphy: Overseer is a bug-ridden nightmare that takes more time to set up than most old games re-released on Steam. However, once you get it running (thanks to the helpful guides from the Steam community), it plays well on Windows 10. The game features corny acting that is a special kind of delightful, reminiscent of Saturday morning cartoons, Kevin Sorbo’s Hercules, and other shows geared towards teenage boys. Tex Murphy himself is a twisted mix of Sam Spade and Bugs Bunny, bringing a quirky charm to the game. While the graphics haven’t aged well, their shoot-the-moon campiness still brings a chuckle. The visuals, though dated, add to the game’s nostalgic appeal and make it a fun trip down memory lane.
I love all the Tex Murphy Games
