Tex Murphy: Overseer

Could not get the game to run- unplayable. A real shame as I really enjoyed the previous games.

The end of the game is broken. You can't beat it. CTD everytime. Sorry Tex.

♥♥♥♥ you Overseer, ♥♥♥♥ you. I was going through the whole Tex Murphy series and i wanted to see a nicer looking Mean streets, but no, this ♥♥♥♥ is unplayable. Even Martian Memorandum was completely playable in Dosbox, but this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pile of ♥♥♥♥ is always crashing. I spend much more time rebooting my pc, geting into Windows, Steam and the game, than playing. In half a year i played 8 hours only, beacuse it always crashed, both on Win 7 and 10. I dont even notice the graphics and sound glitches anymore, everything that was supposed to be seethrough, like a glass door, window is now a black rectangle, i see black boxes around every 3d model, the videos crash half the time when they are over. I play around them, but the constant crashing is horrible. Fix it or dont sell it. Shame on you Nightdive.

Would love to post a review, but the game sadly doesn't work. wish I could recommend, im sure I would love and recommend this game. but they gave us a dud

A oublier. Cette version ne lance pas les vidéo sur les configuration modernes et aucun patch en vue. C'est dommage.

It is overall fun and has a enjoyable story, it is worth a playthrough. To get this working just follow the guides that you can find nearly everywhere, it is what i did and i have no issues so far. (thankfully) took like 15 minutes to figure out. The downside is that unlike pandora directive this isnt as open world so to speak. Overall still worth a playthrough for fans. Comment here or reach to me if you need help figuring out settup for this game on newer systems. It does work, so ignore all these bad comments these people simply do not read or have a brain. Simply gotta shuffle things round and get one or two programs to help it read it's old files. anyone saying files are bad who tried to do this did it wrong. I could stream even to prove it works fine for me on windows 10 64 bit. Nvidia gtx 1050 GPU i7 7700 cpu.....

Another Tex Murphy "remaster" that doesn't quite work on modern PCs.

Very Broken

this is the best of the old tex murphy adventures. I made it work on windows 10 64 bit. to do so, download ffdshow and make sure you check most of the boxes in ffdshow . especially mpeg 1 and 2 and libavoedec. the game will play well except for occasional bad outlines on doors in cabinets etc. but the actors and the cut shots are excellent. also, choose midi in audio preferences. there may be some something better than ffdshow but I did not look that way. You will not get full screen but that did not bother me. the game is long and sometimes the puzzles are hard, but that is what adventure games are all about. good luck.

A very entertaining game. just like under a killing moon, i wish they would remaster these. what a great story but somehow gets shoved to the bottom of the book case. my windows 10 did have a problem with the game crashing at first thanks to stinkys mpeg2 codec and dgvoodoo i was able to get thru the game. other wise there is some graphical distortion on some permanent objects but i could make them out.
