About

The action puzzle game "TETRIS® THE GRAND MASTER" first appeared in game arcades in August 1998, and became a beloved game for gamers as a Tetris game packed with addictive elements.
Then, "TETRIS THE ABSOLUTE THE GRAND MASTER 2" was released in 2000, and "TETRIS THE GRAND MASTER 3 -Terror Instinct-" was released in 2005. The latest in the series, "TETRIS THE GRAND MASTER 4 -ABSOLUTE EYE-", will be available on Steam for the first time in 20 years.

This time, "TGM4" offers players a deeper, more strategic Tetris experience, and the depth of the game will satisfy even experienced players. New modes have been added, and this game will test your skills to the limit, requiring precise strategy and fast play.
Of course, there are also modes that even beginners to Tetris can enjoy, and the game is so full of charm that you will find yourself retrying it over and over again.
The sound is handled by Shinji Hosoe, who is well known for the TGM series. His music, full of tension and excitement, will increase the player's concentration and make the game even more exciting.
*Players can compete against each other in local play.

We will introduce the game modes available in "TETRIS THE GRAND MASTER 4 -ABSOLUTE EYE-".

MARATHON: This is a traditional Tetris mode where you compete for the highest score.
- Operation Type: STANDARD

NORMAL: This is a traditional Tetris mode where you compete to clear lines in the fastest time.
- Operation Type: TGM

ASUKA: This mode is recommended for intermediate players. Tetriminos will drop at top speed, so place them quickly to clear lines and compete to see how high you can level up within the time limit.

Additionally, ASUKA mode comes with a backstep function. By using the rewind feature, you can revert a placed Tetrimino back to the moment before it landed and try again.

MASTER: This is a challenging mode designed for advanced players where all of your Tetris skills will be put to the test. Strive to level up as much as possible. Tetriminos will drop at maximum speed right from the start, so stack them carefully to clear lines. Use every technique at your disposal—like T-Spins and All Clears—to take on the challenge.

KONOHA: This mode features big blocks. Every time you achieve an All Clear, you unlock a bonus illustration. Early on, a guide will appear to help you complete All Clears, and whenever you pull one off, a bonus illustration will be revealed.

You can view all unlocked visuals in the KONOHA Character Gallery. Try to unlock every character!

SHIRANUI: In this mode, you’ll face off against CPU opponents. Defeat CPUs with different strategies as you aim to conquer the highest difficulty level.

When you defeat a CPU, several new levels are unlocked. Generally, the higher the difficulty (Tier), the tougher the CPU. Plus, under certain conditions, a hidden difficulty may appear…!?

Mostly an improvement to the not-very-easy-to-legally-play TGM3. If you have a way to play that game, there may be certain things you may like about it better like its user account system (which was designed for a real arcade) and progression system for master mode. But otherwise- Large variety of modes that challenge players in different ways. While this game is still largely intended for hardcore Tetris fans that find most guideline games to not be all that challenging, it does offer more beginner-friendly modes than past games and offers tools to help players learn and improve. As an aside: With all modes available in both control methods now, I don't reccomend TGM control mode unless you're used to it from playing TGM3 on a real arcade machine or arcade stick. The TGM control mode was designed around an arcade stick and allows some slick movements that are natural for a stick but not for a d-pad or keyboard configuration. Standard (guideline) mode will be better for gamepads or keyboards.
Pretty darn rad Tetris, and so cool to finally have it at home. Thumbs up!
Review zu TETRIS® THE GRAND MASTER 4 -ABSOLUTE EYE-

Hast du noch mehr Interesse an Reviews wie diese? aesthetically, it feels like a tgm clone despite being an official game. i can't comment on the mechanical intricacies because i'm not that great at tgm, but there's none of the personality that made me fall in love with 3.
Ramps up to extremely fast Tetris. SRS and ARS rotation systems. Works great in Crossover on macOS.
It is so cool to finally have a game from the TGM series finally released on PC. There is slow, but steady progress being made by the developers to continually improve the game. I would much rather software be complete on release (i.e. 1.0 being the first and final product, perfected from the beginning), but it is nice to see persistent development, and it's refreshing to not be bait-and-switched by developers for once.
skill issue
Will change back, but only after I beat the torikan of 3:20 in normal 2.1 someday somehow
7 out 10 Positives. 1. It's Tetris 2.Marathon Mode has the Classic Music. 3. It runs smooth on weak hardware as it should. 4. It's a pretty tetris game Negatives. 1. Latching speed is slower then PPT 1 and 2 So you'll need a arcade stick lever with short throw (seimitsu or happ) and good buttons to be able to play this. A mechanical keyboard with silver speed switches is also a good choice. 2. Button Rotation speed is slower then normal tetris games as Number 1 you'll need arcade buttons or a mech keyboard with speed switches. 3. Price is absurd there are cheaper better options on Steam, Like Tetrux online and Puyo-puyo v tetris1-2 that provide more then this game. 4. No musicplayer mode in the options menu. 5. Marathon mode is not infinite which it should be as this is the only mode with the classic music. 6. The skill ceiling for master mode is just speed and little else hence 1 and 2, if your using a gamepad don't bother. 7. CPU vs is only 1 CPU. -------------------- Is this a good tetris game? The lack of a infinite mode is a problem, something PPT2 has, and is much cheaper, and again TETRUX online is even cheaper then PPT1 and 2 and is also a better tetris type game with even more modes and block types that can be played with. If you don't already have those look there, or really really want a good rendition of the classic music themes this is very good for that. The main reason I am coming back to this one at the moment. The only thing going for it is if your a speed freak and like to push that aspect, there isn't a faster tetris game then this and it requires your input hardware to be able to keep up so gamepad warriors look elsewhere. This is why I give it a just okay 7 out of 10 it could be alot better especially for its high price.
