"Tesla Breaks the World!" is yet another of literally thousands of 2D retro platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. It's an older game from 2015. It's a venerable 10 years old at the time of this review, but there is 4K support and a rudimentary, if unsatisfying set of configuration options. So, on the upside, the game does feature customisable controls and resolution, so at least some of the basic, minimum requirements have been met. Unfortunately there's a number of other technical defects and shortcomings which contribute to the game being difficult to recommend to gamers. For starters, before getting too deep into the technicals, this is yet another case of an amateur developer grave robbing Nikolai Tesla in a brazen act of intellectual and creative bankruptcy. At least they left Lovecraft alone this time... but I suspect if Lovecraft and Tesla didn't exist, indie devs would go bankrupt overnight. More bankrupt. Because they wouldn't have any ideas for video games. The controls and game handling are notably very floaty and imprecise, the real killer here. It's janky and unsatisfying to play... and any experienced gamer will tell you, the handling, responsiveness and general gameplay feel of the control scheme must be well polished for this kind of game to succeed. Unfortunately, this is something the developer seems to have phoned in, with little to no apparent gameplay testing or polish done. The visibility in this platformer is very weak, too, you're super zoomed in... it's pretty obvious from the controls and other aspects of the game that the developers had never seen or played a platformer before, and if they had bothered with any testing, people would have pointed that out pretty quickly. So it's clear none of that took place. This looks a lot like it was designed for consoles, but released on Steam instead by mistake. While this is on PC, it has all the hallmarks and deficiencies of a console game, from the clunkier than needed control scheme to the less than cutting edge graphics. There's 10's of thousands of PC games on Steam, and PC gamers deserve only the best. This might not appeal to many gamers due to the lack of PC-centric design. It's unclear why this never made it to the video game console appliances it seems to have been designed for. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. "Tesla Breaks the World!" didn't appeal much to the people who own a copy of the game, either. It has achievements, and they show us a very clear picture that the game didn't really capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is "Oh Dear...", for failing in the tutorial, which is pretty easy given how bad the controls are, trivial to get, but less than 22 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the game. Hardly a success story, even the people who own this game weren't interested in it. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 110,000+ games on Steam? "Tesla Breaks the World!" has the pathetically optimistic price of around $10 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam. For comparison, the $10 asking price for this game could get you games like "Bioshock Infinite", "Ghostrunner" or "Rise of the Tomb Raider". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this.

Well deserved all the negative reviews, controls are horrible, floady, clunky, unresponsive and this is platformer controls should be most polished thing making sure game would not be frustrating to play.

This is the worst platformer I have ever played. Ever. Clunky controls, extremely poor behaviour of objects, AI & player items, obnoxious random levels that can even kill you at the start, no purpose in collecting or even trying to stay alive for the most part since most deaths are unfair, horrible platforming, and dozens of others, but the game's horribleness speaks for itself in the end. I can't believe anyone honestly portrays this game in a positive light. I wonder what dev playtested this and was like "yeh this is fine", if this was even playtested. I feel bad for the artist assigned to make art for this sodding mess, as it's perhaps the only thing going for it.

This is game is terrible, platforms not working, soft locks with traps and checkpoints dropping you in pits, all negative reviews about this game are correct.

Plattformer Unglaublich schwammige Steuerung (Controller, der auch noch SEHR schlecht erklärt wird). Der Witz ist immer der selbe. Kein wirklich empfehlenswertes Spiel.
