About
Classic RTS action meets modern production and performance in Tempest Rising. Inspired by RTS greats of the 90s and 2000s, Tempest Rising is a classic, base-building real time strategy game set in a modern day alternative history war scenario. It features 3 unique factions, each with its own approach to combat and economy and offering a variety of strategies for players of all stripes, deep and rewarding gameplay that keeps a focus on strategy while rewarding skill, and built-in customization options that allow players to approach the game their way in both single player and multiplayer game modes.
Take on the role of Commander in the highly mobile and advanced peacekeeping corps of the Global Defense Forces or the hard-hitting and desperate Tempest Dynasty in 2 11-mission campaigns that allow the player to customize their army for each mission, as both armies seek to understand and control the mysterious but beneficial Tempest vines that grow unchecked across the war-torn planet Earth. Other dangers wait in the shadows, as the origin of the Tempest is revealed...
Relive classic RTS base building with fast, fluid, and hard-hitting combat
Command 2 unique rosters of units as either the GDF (Global Defense Force) or the Tempest Dynasty (with the third playable faction, the Veti, coming in the future.)
Experience 2 epic single player campaigns with voiced mission briefings
Wage war alone or with friends in 3 game modes: versus AI opponents in Custom Game lobbies, in 1v1 and 2v2 Multiplayer Matchmaking, or solo in skirmish mode with up to 500 units per team and two unique superweapons to compliment each faction’s playstyle.

Coming from playing C&C all my Life this Game is a Must have!!
So incredibly slow. Doing a measurement of building construction speed, it's around 50% of RA2, and it really shows. If you've got nothing better to do with your life, go ham.
if you're looking for that command and conquer feeling. this is it. seriously....its good. its great.
6/10. Quick Summary: Good campaign, terrible skirmish mode. Detail: I have been looking for a good replacement for games like C&C Generals and Zero Hour which I really liked. Campaign wise I would say look no further. 2 good length campaigns, 1 for each faction and a reasonable amount of variety in the missions. Playability is very similar to Generals and there are good distinct differences between the faction units to make the campaign play interesting. I only ever played Generals on campaign and then AI skirmish so that's all I wanted from this. Unfortunately that didn't pan out. The skirmish is completely broken when you compare it to other games like the old Generals or Iron Harvest or Homeworld deserts of kharak for example. The AI balancing on those is pretty good. Tempest Rising is terrible. For example, I can play free for all against 7, Hard level, AI players on the C&C Generals Skirmish and win with some effort depending on faction. In Tempest I tried medium against 1 AI player and they will come straight at you forcing you to turtle and focus on defence. This also happens on easy level where I ended up with 6 turrets and many artillery units guarding and they were just keeping on top of it. When you do decide to attack after spending 1 hour on defences the AI will immediately rebuild a building over and over as soon as it's destroyed whilst spamming units constantly. Even on Easy level! It's insane how bad it is and the AI will often have 3 different bases around the map by this point. It literally will start building within 1 second of being destroyed over and over again and you can't get on top of it because it will change the defence units based on what you are using to attack, even on Easy level or more likely it just blends loads of mixed units together to protect against everything. I would give this game 6/10 so it's only just in the recommended level because of the terribly skirmish mode.
yes I would, if you like command and conquer kane's wrath or command and conquer 3 this is probably the closest modern title to Command and Conquer in 20 years. Love it. my ONLY complaint is that there's only two factions to chose from . other than that, it's amazing and has online servers unlike kane's wrath. Super easy to jump in a custom game with friends. The harvesters are idiots who love running into fire fights lol
This was fantastic. I think some/many might find it too costly for what some might consider a short campaign. I would argue to play on harder difficulties. All around the game is solid. Not groundbreaking in any way, but just solid. My bias is I love good campaigns. I think the possibility of a real hit is here. They just need to step up the storytelling. It wouldn't be hard! Great work team! 9/10
just like cnc
