I literally bought this collection as an adult because there was no possible way I could have beat TMNT for the NES. It was so hard. There were so many things against you in this game. The fact that there was so much lag, rendering issues, when you transition into a new part of the level enemies are already on top of you or attacking you. If anyone beat this game as a kid, you are definitely a prodigy of some sort, but like most people I waited until I was an adult to do so. There's not enough blood pressure medicine on earth to play the original TMNT on the NES more than once. Out of ALL the games I have played from childhood to adulthood that I have felt most satisfied beating! And I finally did today. All the other TMNT games are timeless classics. I grew up on the TMNT the arcade game, and renting Turtles in Time every weekend with me my friends and cousins and playing for hours. Nothing but great times.
the in-game guides are cute and the collection is presented well. worth it if you want these games in your steam library.
This collection in a nutshell is my youth in one package, and i know for many of gen x and gen z many of you will feel right at home. this collection combines some of the greatest hits of the Ninja Turtles, TMNT the arcade game, TMNT turtles in time the arcade game, TMNT turtles in time snes, TMNT the hyperstone heist, TMNT 1-3 on the nes, all the different versions of the TMNT Tournament Fighters on every platform, and all 3 TMNT gameboy games. all play great, all are totally worth your time and i CAN NOT reconmend this one enough
TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection . Amazing collection! We can play so many TMNT games that were released on NES, SNES, arcade machines, Game Boy , and Sega Genesis. We can also join online mode and play with other people. The coolest part of this collection is the additional materials: boxes and manuals for each game, magazine advertisements, catalogs and media kits, covers from the comics for each comics book series, screenshots from each TMNT animated series; game design documents, storyboards, sprite sheets, animation sketches, and concept documents for games!!! There is also a music collection from each game and a strategy guide! I recommend this collection to every TMNT fan.
Grew up playing a lot of these. Never played the Genesis or Gameboy games. Wasn’t missing much. It’s a great collection, grab it on sale.
I've got a small history with these games, I've played 1 > 3 on the NES, and 4 on SNES a while back, however recently I've got WAY more into these games. I cannot stress enough how fun these games are as a whole. Definitely worth a try if you want to play some classic, and even modern feeling beat em up games, HOWEVER the NES games haven't aged too well.. they still have the AVGN flaws lol.
If you love the Ninja Turtles games as a kid or want to check out a retro bundle this is definitely worth picking up!
some of these i played for the first time and i'm really surprised how good they are. the gameboy ones are pretty bland until i played radical rescue. i never knew they made a metroidvania for tmnt and it works pretty well. with the exception of the original nes tmnt, the others on nes were really good. didn't expect such a well made fighter to be on the nes either. found myself liking the genesis version of tournament fighter best with the better special move activations.
