About
This is a small game developed independently in C++/OpenGL, and the current development work has not yet been completed. The game features a 2D God perspective, similar to a game developed by RPG Maker, where players can explore a vast world that is carefully constructed.
In the depths of a fog-covered forest, 19-year-old Lin Xiaoyu goes back and forth between school and home day after day. This girl, who lives alone on the edge of the forest, lost her mother when she was eight, and her father, "working overseas," only keeps in touch with her through cold emails. Until one day, her friend Xiaoxia discovers a mysterious iron door in the forest, and their peaceful life starts to crack.
At the same time, the multinational biotech giant Tanxl is carrying out a secret plan in the town. This company, known for its medical research, has set up an underground lab deep in the forest. As time goes by, the town begins to experience all sorts of strange occurrences: withered trees, missing residents, bizarre weather... and all of this seems to be related to Tanxl.
When Lin Xiaoyu decides to uncover the truth, she finds that her fate has long been intertwined with this mysterious organization. In this isolated town, a life-and-death adventure is about to unfold...

Good place to walk around, little funky but i am interested in seeing where the project goes.
I like the new update. Gold squares give you health now, adds a lot to the game. Now you can explore while avoiding the red squares and collecting the gold ones. The new sprite for the girl is pretty cute too.
Tanxl is an Early Access indie adventure developed and published by WiChG that blends exploration, mystery, and science-fiction themes into a modest but intriguing package. Built by a small independent developer, the game places players in a quiet rural setting that gradually unfolds into a larger story involving hidden experiments, corporate secrets, and unexplained events. While the current version remains a work in progress, it already demonstrates a clear creative vision and an eagerness to build a much larger experience over time. The story revolves around Lin Xiaoyu, a young woman whose ordinary life changes after the discovery of a mysterious metal door hidden deep within a nearby forest. What begins as a simple investigation soon reveals connections to the enigmatic Tanxl corporation, a company whose activities appear linked to strange occurrences affecting both the environment and local residents. The narrative focuses heavily on uncovering secrets and piecing together clues, encouraging players to explore the world carefully rather than simply rushing from objective to objective. The premise successfully creates a sense of curiosity and suspense that keeps the adventure engaging despite its relatively simple presentation. Gameplay currently centers on exploration and story progression within a top-down world. Players travel through various locations, interact with the environment, and gradually uncover information about the mystery at the heart of the game. Although some of the systems remain basic in their current state, the foundation shows promise. The developer has outlined plans for additional mechanics, including survival features, combat encounters, procedural world generation improvements, and multiplayer functionality. These ambitions suggest that Tanxl aims to evolve beyond a straightforward adventure title into a more expansive and replayable experience. One of the game's strengths is the sense of potential visible throughout its design. The world feels intentionally constructed to support future expansion, and many elements hint at larger mechanics yet to come. Exploration is encouraged through environmental storytelling and hidden details, while the overarching mystery provides a strong motivation to continue progressing. Players who enjoy discovering lore and unraveling conspiracies may find the game's setting particularly appealing. Visually, Tanxl embraces a simple indie aesthetic that prioritizes atmosphere over technical sophistication. The environments are not especially detailed when compared to larger commercial releases, but they serve their purpose well. Forests, roads, buildings, and interior locations create a believable backdrop for the story, while the isolated setting reinforces the game's themes of secrecy and uncertainty. The presentation may appear modest, yet it helps establish the mood required for a mystery-focused adventure. As with many Early Access projects, the game's biggest weakness is that some of its most exciting ideas have not yet been fully realized. Players expecting a polished and feature-complete experience may find the available content limited. Certain mechanics remain under development, and the overall scope currently exceeds what is fully implemented. However, the developer has consistently updated the project, demonstrating an ongoing commitment to improving systems, refining visuals, expanding content, and addressing technical issues. This active support gives confidence that the game is continuing to move forward rather than remaining stagnant. Tanxl ultimately feels like a passion project driven by creativity and long-term ambition. Its combination of mystery storytelling, exploration-focused gameplay, and planned survival elements creates a foundation that is easy to appreciate, even if the experience is still growing. The engaging premise surrounding Lin Xiaoyu and the shadowy corporation at the center of the plot provides enough intrigue to maintain interest, while regular updates suggest that the game's world will continue to expand. Players who enjoy supporting independent developers and following a game's evolution may find Tanxl worth exploring now, while others may prefer to wait until more of its planned features reach completion.
