This game was a lot of fun. The back and forth between Detective Grimoire and Sally Spears is some great banter. It's like the previous game in being a murder mystery with lots of suspect interrogation, but they have refined the gameplay and the art style a ton. Definitely recommend, especially on sale, but I'd have enjoyed it at full price too.
Very well written plot and a good pace make this game really enjoyable! Definitely recommend.

Point and click murder mystery game that sees Detective Grimoire and Sally uncovering clues to solve who killed Freya Fellow. Gameplay involves searching rooms for clues, interrogating suspects, and filling in blanks to craft cogent theories, with most rooms containing a puzzle box that needs to be solved to unlock them. Exceptional writing and worldbuilding, phenomenal voice work, the puzzles are on the easier side, but are stimulating enough to make you think about how they work. I can only recall getting stuck once. The whole thing can be completed in about 6 hours. The one thing that brings this game down is its very abrupt and unsatisfying ending. The moment you confront the murderer, the game rushes through the explanation and deprives you of any closure or epilogue. It just...ends. I thought I had gotten the bad ending until I did some digging and learned it's the ONLY ending. Despite that one minor flaw, the experience is outstanding. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice palette cleanser between longer titles, and I'm definitely looking forward to checking out the sequel The Mermaid Mask.
Fun, quick detective adventure. Character design/animation and voice acting really bring the cast to life, and it's a well-written group that's fun to get to know. Some of the progression and puzzles felt a bit obtuse, but the overall deduction and problem-solving was good.

Amazing game, A massive step up from the first game. I recommend it to anyone showing any interest towards this game whatsoever. Character's are fun and incredibly charming. The narrative is even more engaging than the first. Also somehow they made Sally even hotter. My gayass started melting.

Love this game. Played it and beat it on switch several years ago. Glad to see it on Steam to share with my family group. Great puzzles, decent hint system, full voice acting, interesting characters, witty dialog. Its filled a place in my mystery gaming wants since Professor Layton hasn't really been in the picture for a while now. Excited for the next mystery in the series, Mermaid Mask!

The art style and the dialogues are lovely. The puzzles are compelling. I can't wait for the next game in the series.
