About

First-person shooter with survival horror elements
Scientific horror atmosphere
Low-poly graphics aesthetics reminiscent of late 90's games
Expanding on the story established in 'Snowsquall Grip', 'Re.Surs', and 'Plastomorphosis'
In the heart of Modern-City, the Continent's sprawling capital, an ominous discovery was made: dark energy particles accumulating at an unprecedented rate.
The Supreme One's Government immediately began construction of a classified laboratory complex within the imposing Nexus Tower. This colossal structure dominates the skyline, serving as both a governmental headquarters and a research facility.
Scientists studying the mysterious concentration proposed the "Synthesis" experiment – an ambitious attempt to isolate and manipulate a single dark particle.
Success would unlock the secrets of the Re.Surs, the unique dark energy that has permeated the entire Continent since the events documented in the "Snowsquall Grip" classified event.
But now this catastrophic failure threatens the future of not only Modern-City, but all life on the Continent.
As the assistant researcher arriving late to your shift, you alone must contain the corruption that scientists couldn't control.

really solid horrorish half life experience!!!! i never got lost just confused on an optional puzzle (i didnt think a dial padlock could have 4 numbers) my only real complaint is the movement speed but itd be too easy if you were faster play it :)
One of my favorite corners of the horror genre has always been the low-poly, retro-inspired videogames. There’s something about that jagged aesthetic and stripped-down design that modern horror still struggles to replicate. With Synthesis of Corruption, Vidy Games once again proves it understands exactly why that aesthetic is still up. Where the studio’s previous efforts leaned heavily into the inspiration of classics like Resident Evil and Silent Hill, this latest project pivots toward something more like techno-paranoia, evoking the oppressive atmosphere and unsettling discovery-driven storytelling of System Shock. It is hard to describe but there is this odd weird feeling you had, walking the corridors of games back then and encounter random enemies, not knowing what exactly had been going on. The narrative is deliberately cryptic, unraveling in fragments as the game progresses. Environmental clues, scattered notes, and subtle visual storytelling slowly piece together what’s really happening. Importantly, though, the obscurity never turns into frustration. The game strikes a careful balance: while the story keeps you guessing, your path forward is usually clear enough to avoid that aimless wandering that plagued many retro and indie titles. Combat is another pleasant surprise. It’s measured and methodical, demanding a bit of experimentation before it clicks. You’ll likely spend your first few encounters figuring out what works best for your playstyle, but once it settles in, it feels like a modern refinement of the systems we grew up with. It captures the weight and tension of old-school combat without the clunkiness that often came with it. For players chasing that specific brand of nostalgia—the lo-fi visuals - Synthesis of Corruption is an easy recommendation. It’s affordable, focused, and above all, a sincere love letter to a defining era of horror games.
Ok, I really love this game but my weapons were so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ janky and hard to use, all of them and now that I finished the game and watched the trailer....why do they seem to work perfectly fine in it? Also the parkouring to get through the game is next level trolling, game made with a heart but kinda rough around some areas.
It's good.
Absolutely phenomenal. A delightful mixture of survival horror and storytelling that overwhelmingly exceeded my expectations. A slow and methodical first playthrough on Hard took me 3 hours, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Excellent work VidyGames, I'm your target demographic for this type of game :)
I enjoyed it, its not as deep as i'd like but its a nice speculative take on what if Half-Life had tried to be like Resident Evil instead of only somewhat inspired by it
Full on Half-Like and I am all for it. My favorite genre of shooter done really well that needs more recognition. Definitely recommend.
I don't mind when games take good bits from other games. If anything we need more of that in the industry. This game feels like a half life love child with its own unique enemies and premise. This is the second games ive played from this dev and it has been a night and day progression. I know its indie but this game is pretty solid for what it is. Beat the game and its crazy how big this developer is thinking by fusing lore from their other games. Games ending was way more epic than I was Expecting Gameplay: https://youtu.be/QQeS5Rm8oN4
