There is something good and something bad with this game. I loved the story and environment, the graphics, animation and Sokal's art. And the music, mostly. It's excellent. This part in the series contains actual 3D graphics, wich works quite well. But the controls and the automatic camera position is just awful. Quite often, it ruins the experience, because you just can't do the thing you are supposed to. The presentation of the youkol tribe is almost racist, and the role of the bad soldiers is unclear at best. Part 2 of the series ended in a poetic way, but this part starts abruptly, as if you missed big parts of a continued story. I think the remastered versions of Syberia 1 (and maybe later, 2) would be much better, and be everything this part is not.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I needed at least three attempts over the (many) years to power through this insult. As a fan of the first two games, I wanted to follow through with the story, but on that later. This game is a simulator of listening to fingernails on a blackboard while being kicked in the nuts from time to time. It is a drag. Most of it comes from the interface. The devs, being French, probably thought "We are French and we must do things way differently because we are French." So they randomised camera angles, put critical areas and items just out of the shot so that you have to approach them from different directions in order for you to spot them. The whole system where you have to roll the mouse in circles to manipulate puzzles works both painfully slow and annoyingly fast depnding on the task. The cursor disappears half of the time. In a point & click game! Inventory system is no different. Slow to navigate and requires you to constantly scroll through it from the beginning as you try solutions to the puzzles. All of of the above makes solving puzzles a massive pain and at times I didn't even try, just went straight to walkthroughs. Now to the story. There is no story. It is so bland and disconnected that it makes you wish for a 'skip' button (which is obviously missing). Voice acting is robotic as if the actors weren't told anything about the characters they were supposed to voice. It looks like the devs have run out of funding once they have created graphical assets (which do look very nice) and then checked under the couch cushions for voice acting, user interface, and QA budget. It was a harrowing waste of time. I should've read some synopsis instead, which would've been one page long. This game should have never been released in this state. It is an affront to the previous games in the series (and games in general) and those involved in releasing it should be ahshamed.
Как можно было сделать настолько корявое управление? Вылет на высадке на Баранур так и не пофиксили! Бомбило всю игру изза управления!
I read through some of the negative comments and thought they had to be exaggerated. They are absolutely not exaggerated. This game will make you question your own sanity. 80% of scenes is absolutely nothing other than scenery. The controls is maddening, I thought at one point that "this is not so bad", and I inhaled as much copium as I possibly could.. But it just kept getting worse and worse.. and worse! Ofc I had played 1 and 2 before starting this, and the momentum I had from those two games made me complete this piece of garbage.. (Last two-three chapters I blindly followed video walkthrough cause I was dead inside) But if I know how bad it was before starting I would have skipped the entire game so easily and given zero fudges about missing out a part of the story and went straight for the 4th game - The World Before. Let's hope it makes me forget about this game that would work as a torture method by forcing people to play it. Running in one direction - change of scene - oh lol, you are now running in the completely opposite direction, better make adjustments! Oh lol, you just went back to the other screen - O wait, you just spent 15 minutes running around turning every stone? No stones to turn though, just alot of dead space. And I never thought dialogue and voicelines in a game could ever bother me that much. This game convinced me otherwise. It is difficult to find the words to describe just how obnoxious it is. These folx from this Youkol tribe live remotely from the rest of the known world. Yet they know british dialect to the point of perfection - and complex words roll of their tongues perfectly pronounced - yet they talk like they are inbreds going 2000 generations back - make fun much good no? I wonder if some games are so bad they should be illegal. This would be the first to go.
Ужасное техническое исполнение, куча багов
If you are like me, dismissing all the negative reviews and hoping to play the game yourself for a different experience, let me save you some time and money and talk you out of it. Sadly, all the negative comments are spot‑on. I honestly cannot believe they released a game in this state. It is extremely buggy: you frequently lose your click arrow; the camera angle and perspective shifts are a huge disaster: you often find yourself completely lose track of the direction when camera angle shifts. Even directing the character to walk is a major problem. Interacting with objects is also SO HARD! You cannot open the menu with a mouse click either, you have to press ESC! The story and puzzles itself is fine. In short, I seriously had never played a game with worse gameplay:((((
This game genuinely left me sad... TLDR: This is an extremely subpar game, and all the negative reviews aren't exaggerating. Benoît Sokal was a genius, and the first two Syberia games are some of my all time favorites. There was so much potential with Syberia 3, but this one fails in every possible way. The controls are janky. The loading screens are infuriatingly long. The game is super buggy. The dialogue sometimes randomly cuts out. The camera and movement is terrible. The controls/camera combo in this game are seriously broken, and need work... Everything feels super duper low-budget and rushed. And there's no chapter select, or way to manually save. The game functions solely off of autosaves. Two thumbs WAY down! The character models are absolutely hideous! Syberia 1~2 nailed the pseudo-realistic artstyle, while simultaneously being cartoonish & whimsical. However, this game goes for a more realistic approach, but isn't fully committed. Ultimately, most of the character models are horrid. On top of that, the graphics are also abysmal! I'm not exaggerating; it legitimately looks like something that was released in 2007 on Xbox 360 rather than 2017. The voice acting is so bad, I can't believe they felt comfortable releasing it. Seriously, it's got to be some of the worst voice acting I've ever heard in a video game. This feels like an incomplete mess, and a total embarrassment with how sloppy it is. The atmosphere of this game feels weird... There's still a glimmer of "Syberia" in this game. However, the setting feels less like something from the world of Syberia, and more like a generic traditional European village. There's not enough whimsical steampunk architecture, or automatons. The assets feel so generic and misplaced, and not things that belong in the world of Syberia. As the game progresses and you explore new locations, it begins to feel more aesthetically like the original; but still not enough (in my opinion). Syberia 2 should've been the end of Kate Walker's story. Syberia 3 could've been done well, if handled with care and done with a proper budget by a proper studio. But this 100% missed the mark. This game adds nothing of substance to Kate's arc and story. It's pointless. The DLC "An Automaton With A Plan" is equally terrible. Don't waste your money.
This game is really buggy. Like many others pointed out, the mouse pointer vanishes from time to time - in a point & click game o.O Also, the pause menu doesn't pause the game. The controls are abysmal. You often face situations where it is hard to enter or exit an area or click on an object. By accident I found out that you can control Kate with the arrow keys or WASD. Holding shift at the same time even makes her run. This is not mentioned anywhere in the game itself. The story is okay, but somehow boring. The ending was quite abrupt and unsatisfying. The puzzles were mostly no-brainers, but then again there were completely illogical puzzles among them. I'm giving this game a thumbs-up because I made it through until the end and because steam doesn't offer a tumbs-sideways.
