It's a decent casual city builder and a casual tactical RPG, but experienced gamers might find it too repetitive.
Recomendado.
https://youtu.be/U39ICXt2uTo Hit the high seas of adventure with this pixel art tactical combat / city management hybrid. Both of the major gameplay aspects are done competently, neither is done to an exceptional level, but the sum of the parts do make a greater whole in this situation. An extra pass on the UI/UX to remove some of the extra clicks and provide better information to the player would push this game to being top notch. The writing makes an earnest attempt at being humorous but doesn't quite nail the landing most of the time.

O jogo é bem interessante e divertido, mas é muito fácil. Podia ter níveis de dificuldade
Gameplay Mechanics: 5/10 Narrative: 6/10 Graphics: 6/10 Sound and Music: 5/10 Replayability: 5/10 Innovation: 5/10 Swords and Crossbones: An Epic Pirate Story is a light, quirky tactical RPG with pirate flair. It leans more into charm and humor than deep mechanics, which can be a good or bad thing depending on what you're looking for. Think of it more as a fun side adventure than a serious tactical challenge. Gameplay mechanics are where things feel a bit undercooked. The turn-based combat is basic and lacks the strategic depth seen in other tactics games. Battles can get repetitive, and the challenge curve is uneven. There’s base-building and crew management too, but those systems are very light. Score: 5/10. Narrative brings some laughs. The story doesn’t take itself seriously and embraces a Saturday-morning-cartoon tone full of goofy characters and pirate clichés. It’s not deep, but it is amusing. Score: 6/10. Graphics are colorful and clean. The cartoony art style suits the game's mood, though the visuals can feel flat and animations are minimal. Score: 6/10. Sound and music are okay. The soundtrack fits the pirate vibe but loops quickly, and the sound effects don’t do much to elevate the experience. Score: 5/10. Replayability is average. Once you’re through the story, there’s little reason to revisit unless you just enjoy the humor and theme. Score: 5/10. Innovation is modest. It blends a few light mechanics—crew management, base upgrades, tactical battles—but doesn’t push the genre forward. Score: 5/10. Bottom line: Swords and Crossbones is a quirky little game with some charm, but it’s not a standout. If you’re in the mood for something light and goofy with a pirate twist, it can be fun—but temper your expectations for depth or complexity.
Enough to keep you occupied for a cheap game, but I wouldn't call it "good" Crashes pretty often (remember to manual save). So far I've found it does it if: - you demolish a decoration building while at fast forwarded speed, - you capture a land and sea animal in the same battle. Pretty normal situations actually. So I'm surprised it hasn't been picked up and addressed. Keeps the mobile 'feel', by not selecting stuff sometimes even if you can see your mouse hitting it. Fat fingering simulated on pc 2022.
Tags: Tactical Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Slow, clunky, lots of waiting. Units basic and uninteresting. City building very unwieldy. Hard Pass. This comes across as a cooldown clicker with the timers removed. Your little pirates move to an encounter area, you play a boring very slow fight in which you aggro units one at a time, tank when necessary and health potion when necessary. Then in theory with ressources you build stuff, that gives you more ressources. The combat was clunky but I could live with. But there are a lot of ressources, building needed an approved blueprint for the building which meant clearing more space. All so I can build stuff that build ressources. Meanwhile between each fight if my guys are injured they retreat back home to heal, and apparently the description of houses states better houses helps a faster regen. Except even at level 1 its plenty fast. Leading me to think that somehow the design was left open, or was used at some point, to do exactly that, and throttle it down. In any case, the game is shallow all around. The art direction and most of the core features work, but thats all you get, and there are better alternatives out there.
