Reviews
Joke reviews aside, this game is much more buggier/harder to play than it might seem (if you attempt to play it casually) due to serious issues with bugs or the game's general design. Examples include: - The game failing to indicate to the player where they need to go in order to progress - Glitches that have become prominent for speedrunning (such as letting go of forward when a text box appears on-screen) can lead to the player's character frustratingly no-clipping out of bounds and plunging to her death - Saving only saves which level you are on (which means that, when you continue from the main menu, you start at the beginning of the map rather than where you left off) - ...and - probably the most game-breaking issue - sometimes the game won't even bother to load level/puzzle-critical items (such as the second level, which is supposed to be a box-pushing puzzle, but on my first play-through the game didn't even bother to spawn the boxes, leaving me stumped on my first play-through). Other issues with this game include: - Awkward non-remappable keybinds/controls - Horrible repetitive MIDI soundtrack - Amateur graphics (why is the HUD so low quality, even on Fantastic graphical settings?) - Automated dialogue/cutscenes progress too quickly (then again, maybe that's a blessing) - And a bucket-load of bugs and glitches (including the aforementioned object spawning and cutscene noclipping issues) which make the game harder - if not impossible - to play casually. IN CONCLUSION: If you're thinking about playing this casually, and are tempted by the game's low, low price, don't even bother. This game is soo incredibly broken that you won't get far into the game before your patience runs out. If you're thinking about buying this game so you can speed-run it, feel free, but frankly there's tons of other games out there that are more worth your time/money than this. If the developer of this game is reading this, I'm sorry to be harsh, I'm sure you put a lot of time and personal effort into this game (no sarcasm intended), but if you're going to charge people money for a game (especially a buggy, almost un-polished game like Sword of the Black Stone) people deserve to know what they'll be getting into if they buy it, and thus whether it's worth their money or not in the first place. -= Ben24x7 =- P.S. Why are there hints in the "About This Game" section of the store-page? Why not just include them in-game if they're so necessary.

this game is totally unplayable. but damn. what a piece of art.
As a connoisseur of Zelda games I would have to say that this is my favorite one in the entire series. If you are thinking about picking this game up, please by all means let it slide right into your Steam library.
It is very video game. You can play it on your computer.
Wasn't going to bother to review this game, but now I will. I was given this game as a joke because I play a bunch of bad games on my streams to make everyone laugh. I, like many, had seen it in the awful block of GDQ, as did who gave it to me. It was almost kind of endearingly bad experience right up until the platforming became near impossible to deal with (as you just slip right off moving platforms), at which point we stopped, realized this developer had made three other games, and moved on. Of all the four games he's released here, this one is the closest I'd call to being playable. The other three were significantly worse, to the point where I thought this dev must be either extremely young or trying to make the worst games he can on purpose. Turns out, I guess he's neither. He found my videos and was not pleased. I can understand him not liking his hard work getting bashed, but when offered actual constructive criticism that he could still improve the biggest problems, he merely claimed I was the problem and that his games are fine as they are. The truth is that every game made by this developer is somewhere between barely functional and virtually unplayable. That he actually chooses to charge for two of them is ridiculous, no matter how much better this one is than the other three. For this one: - The combat is the equivalent of the bump combat from the first ys games. - The platforming is atrocious even when things are stationary, and when they start moving it's literally just random luck on if it's going to drag you to the right place enough to make the next jump - The hud randomly changes size from big to small, and all the items in the inventory do too and don't line up with the awkward buttons he's made for them - The 3d models could have been made by anyone in a couple hours during a tutorial for blender - The midi music sounds like it was composed by a scared cat running across a keyboard - If you're moving and then hit a dialog you'll keep scooting right through anything in your way until it closes, leading to either you getting stuck or your untimely demise - What save functionality there is does not work the way you intend it to, starting you at the beginning of the entire world area you're in - Jump is backspace, and you can't rebind the keys These are just the problems I remember off the top of my head from over a month ago, I'm sure there were more. And I will reiterate: This is, by far, the best game he's made, despite how bad it already is. If they hadn't been gifted, both would have been refunded, but the person that gave them to me would not even accept a refund if I wanted to, he'd want these to tarnish my list forever. But honestly, these games aren't even worth free. If you were looking for this same kind of bad game aesthetic but wanted a GOOD game experience from it, buy Candice DeBébé's Incredibly Trick Lifestyle or its sequel. They were made to be bad on purpose, but actually have the janky polish put into them to make them actually good bad.
If you're looking to clip through walls and get migraines from midi flutes, then Sword of the Black Stone is for you
This game has no redeeming qualities I ironically love it as babi's first game project. if you go in expecting that, you'll get some fun out of it. Dev's a bit of an ass though so I can't recommend, even as a joke buy.
I love this game. All of my girlfriends live inside it.
Possibly the most fun I've had with a one-star game. A fantastic use of your time. I got to the end, tho I have no idea how to beat this game legitimately.
Best game 10/10
