Such a fun game. I love the story, it feels like an entire world that truly existed way before I jumped in.
The only game that I know of which does politics right

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Yeah
one of the greatest games i've ever played by a long shot, but there's a few problems that you notice after a few runs just because i invested a fair amount of money on civic welfare WHILE ALSO advocating for a market economy DOES NOT make me a communist-socialist. this doesn't make suzerain "0/10 unplayable", but i thought that was one of the stupidest parts of the game. the real problem is here if you ask me: you're either authoritarian/reformist or communist/capitalist throughout your reign in sordland and rizia and it basically forces you to choose A or B and i found it hard to find a middle ground between the two sides. i also wish that the game itself had more options and problems to deal with, at first economy looks like a huge problem but i've never had a problem with the economy in sordland or rizia other than that, i don't think there's anything wrong with the game, the game itself is absolutely amazing, totally worth your time
Help. This game and its dlc consumed my entire summer vacation (worth it).
Got my country out of the economy through a balanced state-run/privatized framework and boosting tourism, made education and health free, championed womens rights despite consrevative objection, created overall quality of life and citizen lifespan at the highest its been in almost 100 years, and passed through my controversial constitutional reform that limits the powers of the president and supreme court. All was going pretty well! And then we went to war, my family escaped, but I was captured, tortured, and then, after making a shiv, tried to kill the Queen, failed, and was immediately executed. 10/10 run. Seriously though, this game is incredibly immersive, with amazing world building and brilliant, natural dialogue. It also got me to learn a lot about the process of running a country. After completing my main game run, I got the Rizia DLC and am happy to see that my version of President Rayne can be placed into it.
A game on politics
Why should one play this game? Simple. So far, it is one of the only games available that shed light on politics. That is not to say that there aren't great political games out there, but a game on politics is rare, and even rarer is a game on politics that doesn't give in to temptation to instead become a game on numbers. The key issue Suzerain addresses is that the political process has as much to do with mathematics as architecture does. Design is the most important, but structural engineering is more most important. Similarly, one will find this game frustrating if one is to encounter it as a game simulating political design. As the most powerful man of Sordland, one's might is absolutely, depressingly conditional. The player will constantly be subject to criticism, challenges to their authority, and statements suggesting impossibility. Much like in actual politics, one is surrounded by cowards, self-serving sycophants, conspiracy theorists, the objectively evil, and the best souls in the unlikeliest places. Suzerain is political poetry; I insist we study it extensively so that we may learn how we come to the conclusions that this game offers us. To the apolitical, I insist you play this game. To the political enthusiasts, I insist you play. The reasons for this are all the same, you will, by the end of it, have learned something, and you will have been delighted.
