great game many choices and outcomes
This game is probably one of the best.. Political simulators out there. Sure there are strict lines and brances. But you feel lik you are the ruler or president. The main game. Where you play as sordland is amazing and fun. You feel really invested in the story. In the DLC. Rizia. You get more freedom. You are the king of rizia. The stories you can make. The coiches. Suzerain and its DLC are worth every penny for the experience.
A very informative/revealing game that plays like a turn based novel around political (socioeconomical- military industrial complex etc.) situations - most of them complex enough to be relatable throughout history up to now. The first run is always the most pure if you let it immerse you, lots of quotables and the situations youre put in as the Mr President impact millions ( Note: dont forget you can become an enemy to many dangerous people as menacingly as irl) . The ost always fits the depth of the dialogues and the unique artstyle is charming <3 .
An unbelievably deep game that goes beyond most other political simulators with only a few exceptions. Not only that, its narrative and events getting thrown at you genuinely stress you out as you attempt to recover your nation economically while also reforming its democratic institutions and a plethora of other things. I do believe it sometimes falls short in terms of political theory in a few areas like the portrayal of the economic impact of Communist policies or the failure to reach a state of true democracy in capitalist nations but those are nitpicks in an otherwise fantastic game. I can only rejoice that they seem intent on making more, and the sequel as a news anchor/outlet promises much on the topic of a free press and the dangers of both state intervention and oligarch influence in that specific aspect.
