About
Prepare during the day. Survive the night.
Survive the Nights is a hardcore open-world survival game where preparation is everything. Scavenge, craft, fortify, and plan during the day — because when night falls, the infected hunt in numbers, and mistakes are punished.
Play solo or with friends in a brutal post-apocalyptic sandbox where survival is earned through smart decisions, strong fortifications, and cooperation under pressure.
Zombie difficulty comes from numbers, not individual strength. By day they roam slowly — by night they gather into massive hordes drawn to player activity. The longer you survive, the bigger and more dangerous the nights become.

Structures and vehicles are fully fortifiable. Cover windows and add strength to gain the advantage.

Like to be on the move? Take your home on the road. Cook, sleep and store your items in your mobile base.

Settle into your new home by using pegboards, player storage and blueprints to put your stamp on the place. Physically place your items in the world to make your perfect survival hideout. Use traps to get the upper hand. Traps can give you the edge when zombies or raiders arrive.

Cook over an open fire or directly on a stove to manage your calorie and hydration needs. Maintaining your player vitals will increase your overall strength and carrying capacity over time.

Sick of canned food? Head out into the wilderness to hunt for larger animals.

When food stores start to run out, turn to farming for your calorie needs. Protect your crops indoors under light or grow them outside in the warmer months to produce food that will last through winter.

Weapon attachments let you customize your gun and get it just right for your play style.

Every vehicle is repairable. Engine and wheel parts are required to get a vehicle running. Items can be stored in trunks and on truck beds.

Explore the different points of interest to find valuable location-specific loot.

The weather is dynamic including all four seasons along with seasonal vegetation and foliage.

Spend your days preparing to survive the onslaught at night. Zombies are more aggressive and alert when the sun goes down.
Day Objectives: During the day, focus on resource gathering and fortification. Fell trees, craft planks, engage in hunting and trapping. Collect loot, food, and fortify a structure. Ensure doors and containers are locked, fuel generators, and prepare power systems. Keep your health up by lighting fires, crafting bandages, and gearing up for the night.
Night Objectives: At night, prioritize safety and stealth. Team up with friends in a secured structure, favor melee over firearms to stay quiet. Activate generators, power up structures, set traps, and cook meals indoors on wood stoves. The key is to survive until morning.
The mental health system discourages the "Kill On Sight" mentality, promoting alliances for better survival against the zombie threat. While PVP is still a factor, players have ways to correct a negative mental state.
Survival and zombies how you like them! Browse hundreds of scenarios that set the scene for your perfect survival experience. Zombie survival just how you want it.

Powering a structure can provide light to make nighttime activities easier. Some structures also require electricity to power interior and exterior doors.
Full Steam Workshop support with the ability to mod all areas of the game. Mods can be browsed and installed directly ingame.

It is a really fun game but content is low sometimes and the vehicles are the main turn off here and there. You have to reopen the lobby to fix cars jumping around and spazzing and falling through the earth sometimes the vehicles don't drive at all or when you put a tire on it it doesn't act like it has a tire. They are super buggy its a peer to peer issue the connection is good but from person to person there is always a big difference. When you drive and or ride with a passenger it gets super laggy and zombies just spawn right in front of your car as your driving out of nowhere making you plow them and wreck your car or the trucks have very little customization you can do to the vehicles other than a plow a lightbar or a bull bar. Would be nice to have more options like putting a headache rack on or heavy duty bumpers or changing the pickups box out for a enclosed van look or a flatbed. Also make the items stackable in the vehicles when placed in the boxes instead of you having them side by side. The generators pull cord glitched multiple times making it unattachable. There is very little to do after a while once you get good weapons its just kinda dry. Had fun but it gets dry. It's mainly the peer to peer connection and the vehicles that turn you off from the game it was actually better before the 1.0 release its even worse now. I played back in 2025 and it wasn't bad the vehicles sure as hell weren't as bad I have zero clue what went wrong in that department. The mod kinda fixes them but honestly made them more glitchy and finicky. 6/10 game at the time.
Excellent
This game is a fantastic zombie survival game. None of the video's or screen shot do it justice. The amount of stuff you can do to protect your base is crazy and the guns are great with realistic sound fx and solid feedback. This is far more scary and intense than your 7 days to die and the zombies far more believable. The whole atmosphere of this game scream zombie apocalypse with a capital Z. It's so darn cheap as well. Don't pass this by if you love zombie survival.
It feels like it has potential.... but it has problems like the UI is terrible, there is a bug affecting vehicles where you fix them and the world straight up swallows them whole. Another issue I have is the world generation it can be done better instead of using steam workshop like why use the steam workshop to create a world it don't make sense it would be better done in the players hands rather then using a custom world from the workshop. This game feels like it was still in early access and should be still in EA doesn't even feel like a complete game.
Great game. Love it so far :)
This game took me by surprise. I bought this and Deadside on the same day because of the summer sale. I downloaded Deadside first and played it for about 20 minutes before I was bored and unimpressed (Nothing against the game as I am sure there is a lot to it, but it seemed a bit cheaply made to really get immersed in it). Then, I downloaded Survive the Nights and played the tutorial. I was hooked right out of the gate. I love the physics and the grit of fighting zombies. it has a real Walking Dead feel to it. The health system is actually brilliant and was taken in a direction I have not seen a game do before. Character progression is dialed in nice and when you are fighting zombies at night you get jump scares constantly. The danger feels real. I still have a lot more to discover and build, but one thing that is really cool about this game is that you can get the regions power and water turned back on once you clear the area of zombies and trip a few levers. This would be amazing multiplayer (So far I have only played solo). The car mechanics are fantastic as well. I plan on playing this one for awhile.
I enjoyed this game with my friends. We tried it on easy mode. Great Ambient music. Great Audio. Great Sound Effects on weapons. Great detail on items and how to build them. Creative ways to get items like in real life. Fun time managing water, food and protection. Lots of places to explore. The driving of the vehicle is very pleasant, I also enjoy the realistic audio of each vehicle's engine. The game has soo much more potential that I would love to see. More weapon crafting. Fishing. Getting bait. Bait farm. Fish Farm. Unique hard zombies. You can do many different geologically generated areas: Cities, Country, Mountainous, Forest, dessert, Oceanic (Island), icy, snow, swamps and so on. Add more cool things we can do to the vehicles for storage and to promote teams going together. Ability to build ammo and more. Fun game overall!
Good fun, good bones, could be great!
Survive the nights has come along way. i remember back when i first played it, it was pretty bad. Now you actually have so much fun. i love all the mechanics of the game like being able to place down every single item on a shelf if you really wanted to. The gun sounds? just right. im sure it will only get better with the updates.
great
