A continuation of the first Super Toy Cars with some new things including a power drift system, last man standing & battle modes and new vehicle categories. Watch gameplay of Super Toy Cars 1 & 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12FjKUVfyv4 In addition to the fun and different toy cars, you can also unlock others, here everything is somewhat similar to the first Super Toy Cars game, but to be honest the first game feels a little more comfortable and fun to play, but maybe it's because my performance in Super Toy Cars 2 wasn't as great as I was hoped.
The levels are cute, but the driving and audio is pretty poor (For example no collision sounds, and only one monotone driving tone) Driving feels like you're a brick.. But fix those things and it could be a fun budget racer
There are a lot of racers out there that try to bring that nostalgia back with the Micro Machines approach. A lot of them fail miserably trying to do this, with cheap clones and uninspired mechanics. Super Toy Cars 2 is the second attempt to bring the glory back to the genre by Eclipse Games. Long story short, they are getting a lot closer this second time around. The car models look amazing and there is a lot of variety in the cars separated into classes; from the classic old Beetle to the legendary and sporty Diablo. There is a lot of “skins” for each car that are not simply color palettes but also change the complete look of the car with some Steampunk designs that are super cool! Having said that, the game has certain occasional bugs were you pass through objects like if you were a ghost that could trigger the frustration game a little bit. The soundtrack is very well done and it sounds like a professional band providing their well produced music to the game. It’s worth highlighting this because the music sounds amazing even though some songs don’t seem to fit some of the tracks. It’s more like a random thing, but still enjoyable! Now let’s talk about what matters the most in these games: the gameplay. The gameplay is solid, but it is definitely one of the aspects that will need the most work during the Early Access tenure. I believe two things that need the attention of the developers right now is that the cars feel weightless, which gives the control of the cars an odd feeling. This, going into the second thing, makes the drift mechanic a little bit clunky. And don’t get me wrong, it works… but not as smooth and intuitive as Crash Team Racing, which is the inspiration for the drift system. The gameplay in general needs a little bit more of refining in its driving mechanics to become the King of the genre, but since the game is still in Early Access so we can definitely expect more refinement and improvements in general before the game goes Gold! STC2 brings to the table a recommended strong entry to the genre, with amazing production values. If you are a fan of the genre, this is a solid game as it is and includes a lot of content for the money. **=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+** If you enjoy my short and sweet reviews, please follow our curator page here! We are the Indies of Curators! #StaySafeStayInside&PlayGames
this game is in early acces state, but i like many good race games, and this one is good, for now. the graphics can better, but i like the level design.
12 hours post-release: Cons:::::: -No Campaign mode. -No tracks to unlock -No paints to unlock -No cars to unlock -No track editor - user content - community mods -No accessories to unlock ᅟ((Rims? tail-pipe bling? Window tints? Decals? Antenna bling? Named Licence Plates? Tire widths? Tread types? Nothing? *saaad faaaace*)) -No Alt-views (ToyCars 1 had a top down view option) -Cars are terrrrribly squirrely to control, -Crashes are sometimes buggy-buggy! ᅟ((Sometimes after bouncing off an object, resetting, or just stopping after the crash, if you had prior been rolled 90° while entering the crash, You will suddenly regain all your directional momentum in the direction you were going -BEFORE- the crash. This causes you to get dragged off the stage even after landing well, or using reset to recover.)) -Using E-Break seems to be more of a Bane then a Boon. ᅟ(( while it turns your car some what faster, and it appears some effort to add a boost machanic for a good drift was included. Often Ebrake cant turn you enough, using regular break with it will cause you to boost-turn overshoot. *think of a forced hair pin turn where your forced into a 270 every time you try to do a 180)) -Obstacles in the road that transition between open and closed during regular races, are ALL CLOSED during time trial, making some tracks extremely hard to even drive through slowly. - Time trial sometimes says 1/1 lap for 3 whole laps before finishing. where other maps say 1/3 laps 2/3 laps 3/3 laps before finishing. -the render distance is so short that you cant tell where your going to be going until your almost there. thus you miss turns. and theres no settings to change this in the options. -Many things in the road seem utterly unavoidable. -No windowed/fullscreen/resolution options, no ability to pick which monitor it starts on. -I've not found any 3-2-1-Boost! mechanic for race startup. -There does not seem to be any rubber band dynamic. +/- some people would like to win more then race well. -no race replays -no ghost replays -no car-wings to guide you back to ---- DISTANCE by Refract, & Rush 2049 have spoiled me with car-wings. -no manual painting of your cars. ---- I've played other race games where you could custom color each car part. Pros:::::: -There does not seem to be any rubber band dynamic. +/- I prefer no catchup-rubberband ai/player dynamics. -More then a hand full of pre-painted color choices for the cars. -Its first-day of early access so maybe they'll keep improving it! -Everything is cool looking, or fun looking. -The music tracks seem like they spent a lot of money on them..? Presently i do not recommend this game... wait till it leaves early access. it has far too far to go to equate to "Super Toy Cars 1" and i think its not nearly deep enough to be the game it could-be, and appeal to ages above 6 years old. Its not even holding to its own physics as well as MARIO KART did on the SNES.almost 30 years ago.

Super Toy Cars 2 is a handheld (Switch) ported arcade "mini-racer" which is to say the racetracks are set up like gigantic childrens playrooms and other domestic scenes instead of realistic racetracks. The game is more arcadey than simulationist as the tracks feature numerous obstacles like building blocks and scissors, and likewise the racing is somewhat adversarial. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. While there are options to change the resolution for the game, that doesn't change much because the game has a fixed render scale... so everything looks blurry no matter what resolution you set. Own a 4K or 5K display? Chuck it out the window, it's useless here. Yeah. Zero effort expended porting this from the Nintendo Switch. The controls and game handling are notably very clunky, sluggish and unsmooth here. It's janky and unsatisfying to play... and any experienced gamer will tell you, the handling, responsiveness and general gameplay feel of the control scheme must be well polished for this kind of game to succeed. Unfortunately, this is something the developer seems to have phoned in, with little to no apparent gameplay testing. They dropped the ball on this one. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. Because this is designed for handheld/portable gaming appliances, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the low power handheld gaming appliances that the game was designed for. These are unfortunate compromises and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was a second thought for the mobile game developers. The game is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for low power handhelds forces upon a game. While this might run well on a Steam Deck, we must remember the vast majority of gamers here are gaming on PC. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 8 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? Super Toy Cars 2 has the cash grab price of $15 USD, for which you could easily get any number of older AAA games. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. For comparison, the $15 asking price for this game could get you games like "Ghostrunner", "Mirror's Edge" or "7 Days to Die". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
