It's as sketchy as the title make it seems. It's just so bareboned, it doesn't make people want to play. Sure, it's early access, but they really should have made it much more attractive. It's not that it's bad, it's just badly explained and there's much better, and funnier alternatives. My friend was completely bored on it, and we decided to quit during the first game and we switched to a certain stand-alone similar Jackbox game that kept their attention for far, far longer. There's barely any music or sounds, which makes the whole experience feel dull. Animations are barely present in the game making it feel boring, and the game doesn't make people interact with each other partly due to the presentation. Just having a narrator or anything to explain in the beginning would make a really sweet difference. The different prompts really didn't felt much funny, they were honestly quite boring. I wish there was a better color select option and a undo button. The QR code is good idea to join the game, I thought it was a nice alternative to simply writing an URL to join, but it's not something everyone seems to be able to work. Also the 3 emojis to react to drawings / texts barely make sense to me... and all my friends. They could have done a much better alternative to it.
Underwhelming and barebones, this game lacks engaging elements to keep players interested. Minimal audio, animations, and dull prompts make for a tedious experience. While the QR code feature is a nice touch, the confusing emojis and limited color options hinder gameplay. Overall, it falls short and needs improvements to compete with better alternatives.
(tldr:) I think it is a great party game that is easy to set up, easy to understand and it's cheap. First of all even though it is redundant to say but we live in a pandemic and this game has ONLINE Multiplayer! And second, you can use pretty much ANY device you've got lying around your house if people actually come over to play. (I would recommend using a beamer or television for the presentation screen but also a laptop opened in the middle of the cafeteria would work as it doesn't need to be installed there.) Anyway the basic concept is also simple for everyone to grasp so you can play with your whole family or other people who are just not that used to play games. The devs seem to try their best to support the ease of use and they even try to improve it in their updates. The updates overall always seem to add some big features. The only negative I have would be the emojis that are not for everyone to easily understand but this game is still in early access and for the features you get for only $5 it is a steal!
Playing it every few months with a group of friends when we come together and it's always a great fun. Laughing at each others and my own drawings is the most fun, the whole ranking system is a nice touch, but not a very relevant part of the game for me. Summary: Play with a group of good friends and you will have a lot of fun!
