Fantastic game. Controls are great and the levels are really fun. Speedrunning these would be extremely fun and challenging
Good movement and a fun time achievement hunting. Highly recommend if you like any movement based platformers. Hella cute art style and a great difficulty curve.
the controls, especially the mid air tongue jump thing it wants you to do feel terrible and work inconsistently to the point it ruins the game.
Wild game! If you are more casual like me, you might want to get it on sale so you can feel like getting your moneys worth without commiting to mastery for the extensive post-game. Getting the first ending is already quite hard and rewarding in my view. Props to the devs for honing the leveldesign to a tight-rope-walk on nitro!
This is a pretty solid game. The movement is fun and the level design can be deceptively tricky, forcing you to make these crazy tight rope walks at high speed to make it to the end. I love the ground pound and how it interacts with slopes, it's very fun to shoot away at high speed. I'm not in love with the tongue grapple, it feels a bit like it ruins my flow, but it's still a very useful move. The game is a bit ugly, but it has a nice amount of levels and runs perfectly. I can't wait to see the few issues improve in the sequel, I know the artstyle will definitely improve.
Adding a grappling hook to the Sonic / Super Monkey Ball formula solves all the issues caused by going too fast. Genius concept and incredibly smooth execution.
The movement is incongruously incompatible with the level design. The character makes wide turns, but the level design gives you tightrope and 90 degree turns that don't compliment sami. It feels like boost sonic in mario 3D world. A lot of this could be allieviated with a drift or quick turn item in the shop.
The game supports both Xbox 360 controller and Playstation 4 controller. I was successfully able to play on a linux computer without any framerate issues.
I might be late to the party, but good god is Super Sami Roll incredible. You have so much control over your moveset, the levels have while having a set path they also let you play around in their sandboxes. Very rarely do I feel deaths are the fault of the game. I cannot WAIT for the sequel Sami is also just incredibly cute and the outfits are wonderful.
I bought this game for an old friend back in high school and we played the whole thing together from start to finish. I’ve always had fond memories of us having out like that. I miss you Anthony, not a day goes by without me wishing that we had hired and better lawyer and so the state would have dropped those terrorism charges against you.
