With Time Trials, Grand Prix, Splitscreen GP, Quick Race, Mission Mania, and a few Battle Modes.. there's plenty of ways to tackle the tracks!

Indie Crossovers so far include: - Nitromeland - Mission In Snowdriftland - Clive'N'Wrench - ToeJam & Earl: Back In The Groove - Burrito Bison - Mutant Mudds - Runbow - Freedom Planet - Teslagrad - Fist Of Awesome - Read Only Memories 2064 - Canabalt - Duck Game - Toto Temple Deluxe - Knightmare Tower - Aegis Defenders - Shutshimi - Cross Code - Guacamelee! - and many more to come! With over 48 tracks currently ready to race on, in 4 speed classes, plus mirror mode, there'll also be plenty of achievements and unlocks to keep you drifting and burning pixel rubber 'till the pixelated billboard sun goes down!
With one foot firmly in the past, witness authentic '90s hardware limitations such as:
Super Style
shockingly bad draw distance!
fast, incredibly small, almost claustrophobic, tracks!
trees and obstacles that pop up 5 yards in front of you!
Ultra Update
increased draw distance and track area size!
large open anti-gravity racetracks that corkscrew and loop-de-loop into the skies!
more cranked up than a joypad with a double wedgie!
Retro Sensibilities
World leading watermelon physics engine! (featuring Watermelon Blast Processing!)
1992 style screen curvature and motion blur! (optional)
Indie Game crossovers you know and love, and some you don't yet know you love!
More info on the final game:
Play as some super Indie Game characters, coming to battle it out in some super Indie Game themed tracks! It might get a little bumpy out there as there are plenty of weapons on the track to spin you out: Meloons, Exploding Pangapples, Slippy Gelatos, Heat Seeking Loconuts, Giant Halloween Pumpkings, Mutant Tomms, Beeta Blockas, and 3 different strength Chilli Boosts!
The game was KickStarted late in 2014 and is aimed for completion in 202x. You don't have to wait until completion though as you can join in now with Early Access! The EA game currently boasts over 30 characters, with 32 Super tracks, 12 Ultra (64) tracks, and 4 Advanced tracks, 48 in total, with 16 more tracks to come, to play Single Player or 2/3/4 Player Splitscreen in Grand Prix mode (and in Mirror Mode), in Time Trials, and 9 arenas in Battle Mania which recently went through a serious overhaul. More characters, tracks, and features will be added as the Early Access months drift on by.

TLDR: this game is really good I'm a huge mariokart nerd, I've played all of them (minus world), and I've been looking for a kart racer to play on my steam deck, and thats how i found this. I will admit i was hesitant to pay $20, but man this game was worth it. I'm currently 1 cup in and I am very satisfied with what I've seen so far. the inclusion of 200cc was a pleasant surprise (along with the ability to activate mirror mode on any cc), but the real shock was the last tack on gp one (the runbow one). I was NOT expecting its gimmick and was a little annoyed at first, but I very quickly learned to play around it and enjoyed it. after such a great first impression, I'm excited to see what else the game throws at me. if your looking for a good kart racer for steam and have 20 bucks to spend (or less depending on any sales), I highly recommend this one. my only criticism (so far) is the lack of a trick system, a feature I find makes a kart racer feel that much better to play.
If you have played Mario Kart Racing, or any Sega racing title, or enjoy mindlessly racing without norms of super cars or realistic raceways, then get this without second thought. I only wish I could code so I could program games like this. BtW, a certain game with the subtitle "All you can drift" has been accused of being a Mario Kart clone because of emulating its button configuration and even double bonus. Good for them, I say. This one is proof of what a dedicated developer can achieve. Let's help the dev achieve more.
Great game. To call it a love letter to kart racers of old would be underselling it a bit. It’s a fast, fun kart racer that really gets its claws into you. There’s some great tracks in here, some that you love straight away and others that grow on you as you learn their nuances. Very charming character roster, I’ll admit to not knowing a fair few of them but you can look them up and they all look great. It’s still a work in progress, there’s place holders for cups to come but there’s more than enough here to justify buying it.
Really fun and nostalgic i hope soon they add achivments!
Kart racing done right. I love the retro style this game has and the devs really went all-in with it. EASILY the best indie kart racer I've played.
I've run across this game so many times over the years and after it's been in early access for 10 years, admittedly didn't think much of it. I got a chance to try it and honestly, the game is great. I'm pleasantly surprised at just how well the game handles. The tracks have a 3D aesthetic while the karts and drivers have a retro 16-bit aesthetic. It's a neat blend for graphics. More importantly though, the kart racing feels great. It's certainly one of the best kart racer options on PC. It looks like the plan is to leave early access next year and I'm excited to see the final product. If you're looking for a good kart racer on PC, this is definitely worth your time.
Found this by accident and now wish I had found it sooner.. Can't explain it, but this is better that all the Mario Karts put together... In fact you could say that exactly what's its like. The controls are solid, the speed is wonderful and the variety of courses and characters is unmatched. I am so happy I took the risk on this and I am looking forward to seeing it develop.
NOTES: -is like a modern indie AA version of Skunny Kart from 30 years ago, total garbage in today's competitive kart racing market -got for a few bucks from allkeyshop, thankfully -sfx/music are really very cheap/garbage bad awful -graphics are total garbage too, like something from 30 years ago, like Wacky Wheels old, is trying to be 'retro cool', but basically doesn't fly/hold-up today against newer kart racing products at all, looks n feels terrible ADVICE: -buy something way better like Lego 2K Drive or Moorhuhn Kart 4 or Smurfs Kart or DreamWorks Kart or Nickelodeon Kart or Garfield Kart Furious Racing or Sonic Transformed Racing
Great racing game, plays like classic kart racers like Super Mario Kart with modern drift boosts and loads of fun additions. It's amazingly fun and blends sprite work and 3d tracks.
