Clue/Cluedo

i'm not entirely sure why this had so many great reviews. it really wasn't any better than its "cousin". it's made by the same companies even. the graphics were okay. the text was miniscule (if you have a larger monitor, it's eye-stain-o-vision to the nth.) and the gameplay was nonexistent. it goes so fast that you blink and you miss it. i will say that being able to stay in the same room indefinitely was interesting. not Better, just interesting. i don't know if it would have better if it had been purchased with all (or even a couple) of the dlc. but frankly, if a game can't be interesting With Out the purchase of the extras, it's not worth the money. in any case, i guess it really comes down to personal preference. and this just wasn't mine.

If you really like Clue and you can get this for $5 on sale, sure, do it. But you're essentially buying a demo: you have access to one map and one skin for each character. Most of the achievements are locked behind DLC which, at full price, will set you back roughly the cost of one AAA game. This is undoubtedly not worth the price of a triple-A game. Lol. I could play it from Amazon Prime Luna for free, sure, but... Steam games number go up.

I hated this at first. The DLC's being shoved in my face is unappealing. However; I love the board game, and this scratched that itch. Get it on sale. -------------- I take it back. Once you complete all tasks in the Tudor mansion you must purchase DLC's to move on.

Clue was my favorite board game growing up and probably still is. I played Marmalade Studios first rendition of this game and found it fun. This one is pretty enjoyable too with the various different settings, weapons, and suspects made out to fit into the settings. There is one issue I have noticed though and it involves the CPU controlled opponent AI. In one game (I was playing as Mustard on the Polar Station Level) the AI controlling Green went into the Submarine Dock and ended up making the same suggestion four times in a row then correctly accused the solution (which wasn't in the Sub Dock) without having gone anywhere else on the map. In another game (this time the Black Adder Resort Level) the AI controlling Sgt. Gray correctly suggested the solution on his first move then proceeded to NOT immediately accuse and I won the game when my turn was up (I was last to go). A look at the check sheets for the opponents after that showed that they had all deduced the solution that Gray had suggested but NONE of them accused when their turns were up. I was playing on Medium difficulty both times. The CPU opponent logic is sometimes very iffy in this game and can either result in frustrating losses or easy wins. I never had this issue with the first Clue game Marmalade made. This is still a fun game though and I do recommend it.
