Not a fun game, too many glitches and terrible graphics showing.
Super Furball, developed and published by Dustin Gunn, is a fast-paced retro action-platformer that draws heavily from the design sensibilities of classic DOS and NES-era games while embracing a slightly more open-ended structure than many of its inspirations. From the very beginning, the game establishes itself as a throwback experience built around precision movement, constant combat pressure, and an emphasis on exploration. You take control of a small, determined furball armed with a laser weapon, thrown into a colorful yet hostile world where nearly every screen contains enemies, hazards, or secrets waiting to be discovered. Rather than easing players in gently, Super Furball immediately demands attention and quick reflexes, setting the tone for an adventure that values momentum and mastery. The core gameplay loop revolves around tight platforming and responsive shooting, with movement and combat tightly intertwined. Jumping feels crisp and reliable, while firing your weapon mid-air becomes second nature as enemy patterns grow more complex. Levels are filled with turrets, mobile foes, environmental traps, and narrow passages that require careful timing and spatial awareness. The challenge often comes from managing multiple threats at once, forcing players to think on their feet rather than relying on rote memorization. As new weapons and abilities are introduced, combat gains subtle variety, allowing players to adapt their approach depending on the situation, whether that means aggressive forward momentum or cautious positioning. One of Super Furball’s standout features is its semi non-linear structure. Instead of progressing strictly from one level to the next, the game presents an overworld with branching paths, warp points, and hidden entrances that lead to optional stages and secret areas. This design encourages exploration and rewards curiosity, especially for players willing to revisit earlier zones in search of missed content. Secrets are often cleverly concealed and feel satisfying to uncover, adding replay value and giving completionists plenty to chase. While the overall scope remains relatively compact, this interconnected layout helps the game feel more substantial than a purely linear platformer. Visually, Super Furball embraces a clean pixel-art aesthetic that prioritizes readability over flashy effects. Environments are colorful and varied, clearly communicating hazards and enemy behavior even during hectic moments. While the art style is modest and intentionally retro, it complements the gameplay well by ensuring that visual clarity is never sacrificed for detail. The soundtrack reinforces this old-school identity with energetic, chiptune-inspired tracks that maintain a brisk pace and keep the action feeling lively throughout extended play sessions. Together, the audiovisual presentation reinforces the game’s arcade-like feel, making each stage feel like a self-contained challenge within a larger journey. Boss encounters serve as milestones across the adventure, punctuating progression with intense, screen-filling confrontations that test everything the player has learned so far. These battles rely on pattern recognition, precise movement, and sustained pressure, often demanding multiple attempts before victory. While the boss designs may not be especially complex by modern standards, they fit the game’s retro philosophy and deliver a satisfying sense of accomplishment once overcome. Difficulty options further expand the experience, with higher settings increasing enemy aggression and damage, transforming familiar levels into far more demanding trials for experienced players. Despite its many strengths, Super Furball does show some of the rough edges common to indie projects of its era. The overall campaign can feel brief if players focus only on the main path, and occasional technical hiccups or minor bugs can disrupt the flow. Additionally, the game places minimal emphasis on narrative, offering only light context for its action-driven design. However, this stripped-down approach aligns with its core identity, keeping the focus firmly on gameplay rather than exposition. In the end, Super Furball succeeds as a passionate homage to classic action-platformers, delivering a challenging and energetic experience that rewards skill, exploration, and persistence. Its tight controls, interconnected level design, and relentless pace make it especially appealing to players who enjoy retro difficulty and arcade-style pressure. While it may not reinvent the genre or offer extensive narrative depth, it stands as a solid, earnest indie platformer that captures the spirit of old-school design while offering enough modern touches to remain engaging. For fans of classic run-and-gun platformers looking for a compact but demanding adventure, Super Furball delivers a satisfying burst of nostalgic action. Rating: 7/10

It's a shame games like this don't get more attention. Great level design, I love the aesthetics and it controls very smoothly. It's rather short and not nearly as hard as the DOS games it's based off of, but if you don't mind that or even like those things, you'll enjoy this game.
Super Furball, ou como originalmente era chamado, Furry 2 é a sequência do jogo indie de mesmo nome, dessa vez com os gráficos totalmente remasterizados, sendo assim mais bonito de se ver, é justamente o tipo de game que eu gosto de jogar, um plataforma com tiroteio com alguns easter eggs no caminho, como fases secretas e etc. Adorei o jogo, se um dia Super Furball 2 (ou Furry 3, sei lá) será fantástico! Com certeza compraria! C;
I just brought this game and it's broke and I do want to play can you help. When I try to play all I get is a black screen, Could you please fix it?
It is in a list of games I call "Time Wasters" This is not a great game, but most platformers have the same flaws, and I am playing them to kill time. The graphics are great, and it does capture that DOS feel. I would have liked more variety to the music, but it is what it is. I see it is on sale right now for $0.51, and for that, I think it is at least worth the time it wastes. I have plenty of platformers across all of my systems, and I will not feel upset if this one is short and forgiving. I kind of appreciate that I could complete it in one sitting if I honestly wanted to.
J'adore!! se laisse joué tous seul ! toujours envi d allé plus loin...Ne serait ce pas un bébé de RICK DANGEROUS??? je conseil.
Один из самых лучших платформеров в который я играл, однозначно рекомендую
A fair challenge but short game, just simply beat through the levels and the bosses to progress. You have 4 lives by default and 4 hearts. If you beat the level and have less than 4 hearts, it will get back up when you return to the hub. There are also hidden levels in this game, good luck!
