It needs a pause button and a way to reset the run without loosing all of the lifes, but the core bullet-hell gameplay is not bad. The game works on my 360 controller, he just didn't add the feature to stop or exit the game mid-run. I just love those explosion effects that remind me of dated sound chips - it has that Atari vibe. Sometimes these games have too many visual effects that can make it hard to see the bullets, so I think that simple graphics are working very well here. Aside from one of the bosses, it's pretty easy to tell what is going on. If you read the early access road map, the developer has some interesting features planed for this title which are not currently implemented. At $2 it's already an enjoyable endless arcade, so the gift can only keep on giving. I didn't get very far, but I assume the game cycles based on the mode description. It has steam leaderboards to go along with it. Your ship starts with a primary weapon and 3 sub-weapons that require ammo, although you can get some passive upgrades. As far as I can tell the game randomly generates the waves and boss encounters. The gameplay is not bad, but not exactly different for any other arcade shooter out there. We'll have to see what kind of customization updates will be in the final version to fully evaluate this title. It's hard to complain at $2, I guess it depends on your expectations. Awesome little space shooter gem that offers a HUGE variety of enemies, bosses, and bullet hell patterns that will leave you mesmerized at moments with the sheer elegance and beauty of it. Watch my "First Impressions Review" right HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPz3LVtoDrY Definitely oozes quality, fun, and replay value. Well worth your $1.99 USD and High recommended scoring an impressive 91% score from myself in the above video!
I haven't invested too much time in this, but enough to give a basic overview. ( waiting for an update to continue playing ) You slowly scroll up in an STG ( or SHMUP if youre from the West ) You have 3 types of special weapons, and a standard weapon the enemies and bosses are random - so it's got a sort of roguelite feel to it. Your 3 special weapons are GREEN - this adds an orbiting turret around you that can be hit and destroyed, it fires bullets every so often at enemies with excellent accuracy RED - this fires a bomb that spreads into a bunch of little bullets that home in on enemies GREY - this is a charge shot, does good damage, but the charge is very slow - plan your shots accordingly. On top of these special weps, your main gun can be upgraded by collecting shiny orbs of white - When you aren't firing, all energy orbs are drawn to your ship - it's a good system Your movement is intentionally slow, and you'll find the levels up until the boss parts are pretty slow - but once you get to a boss WHEW! The bosses are PHENOMENAL! The bullet patterns are sick, the attacks are wild and varied - and they mix things up a bit with destructible parts on some bosses. Right now, the bosses are my favorite part, they can be brutal to beat ^^ The game also supports leaderboards, once you die you can see hwo you ranked. so far, this is a pretty good lil STG - recommended for ppl looking for a slower paced bullethell / roguleite
Fun bullet hell game that is easy to learn and becomes an enjoyable endurance test when shooting for a high score.
If you've been looking for a good bullet hell this might do. It has that one more go feeling. I bought a bunch of bullet hells before during and after getting this but this is the one i'll usually go back to when i'm in the mood. Some of these bullet hells include Jets and Guns 2. Black Paradox. Beat Hazard. Crimzon Clover. Stellar Interface. Steredenn. SuperKillerHornet. And a few more including 2 or 3 i just got on summer sale. These are all highly rated and i do like them. I just like this game more. Especially if the planned updates include things i'd like to see added.
I've only played a little bit but I can already tell this gonna be one of my favorite bullethells. Those boss fights are so goooooood! I'm excited to see how the game evolves. Good job to everyone involved!
Definitely seems like a good game however I would recommend to the devs to add in the following: 1) Option to rebind keys both controller and keyboard 2) Pause/Restart feature for those who want to do full clears 3) (Personal want) Rebalancing the green companion turret to be destroyed when the main ship dies and invincibility frames same as ship when drifting/warping
BULLTETHELL is ma favorit :3
This game is interesting. It took me about 12 hours to defeat all the 5 bosses...... My fingers still hurt. I need to take a rest now.
amazing job. scratches that itch for a space game shooter. clean graphics. good sense of humor. I met the devs at a games festival and it was a big hit there as well! since this is an EARLY ACCESS people should post about bugs or missing features in the Discussions section since it really should not be part of a review as once the dev fixes whatever issue you are talking about your review becomes instantly out-of-date.
