If you were a fan of the old school NES-era hockey games, you will get some enjoyment out of this. It primarily uses that formula with upgraded graphics and the addition of a career mode to train your players stats up between games. I found the career mode to be fun for about a season or so before getting tired of it and moving on. I have a lot of nitpicks with the UI as you must manage individual players by finding them in your quarters and the spreadsheets containing information on your entire team are also posted in physical locations in the team quarters. You will inevitably backtrack between the different rooms searching for players and info sheets. Why can't I just set everyone's diet in the kitchen, everyone's routine in the gym? Or even better, just do it all on the computer. There is no way to "shortlist" players and acquiring new talent means cycling through dozens of nearly identical random skaters to find the best deal and god forbid you accidentally back out of the catalogue (very easy mistake to make) and have to start over at the beginning My last critique is that the violence and atmosphere sometimes cross over the line into cruelty. I enjoy playing violent games and I fully expected this to be that, but this game pushes beyond simple violence into disturbing territory that does not positively contribute to the atmosphere. I was growing attached to my players, so when I had to drop one from my team after a bad injury I was not pleased to see him explode on the hospital bed Overall, I picked the game up for ~$2.50, and I enjoyed it for a couple of hours. Don't expect this one to stay in your rotation for long

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

sick game
Just a fun time.
This is a great game! If you liked hockey games back in the day on consoles back in the NES/ SNES days you'll totally love this game. You can play up to 5 players locally too, so its been a great game to play with my kids (its certainly not a game for young kids or any or every kid. The injuries are really silly, but there is some references to doping / performance enhancing drugs and that sorta thing.. and there's fatal injures and cruelty / inhumane surgeries, etc. its not actually that gory though, blood does spray everywhere all the time, but its just basically red pixels, its not that bad. And you can turn down or turn off the blood if you want. (or turn it way up haha) . It's kind hilarious too - if you play the franchise (campaign) mode I definitely recommend reading everything ; I don't want to give out spoilers but theres a fleshed out hilariously cruel back story that explains how you could have a sport like this, which is essentially the equivalent of gladiator games...
Not a bad little game
This game is a hidden gem and just what I need for my steam deck. The gameplay on the ice itself is fun and inviting, yet there's plenty of room to get better. It's a retro version of rocket league, but on ice. The gameplay itself is worth it, yet there's an in-depth franchise mode where you can manage your team and make immoral decisions to get the gold. This is one of those games where I wish I had someone to play with locally, because it would be really fun. Sadly, no online play available at the time of my review. TLDR if you're here because you had a flashback of Blades of Steel from the NES days and wanted something to scratch that itch like me, this game will over deliver. 9.71212/10 too much blood IGN
