Es macht Spaß, eine Farm aufzubauen. Hier bekommt man Aufgaben gestellt, die man lösen muss, um sich neue Dinge freizuschalten. Das Spiel hat Suchtfaktor!!!
The game felt lacking, I had very high hopes for this one, so it was a disappointment.

Sugardew Island – Your Cozy Farm Shop developed and published by rokaplay is a gentle farming and shopkeeping simulation that embraces the relaxed spirit of the cozy game genre. Rather than focusing on fast progression or complicated economic systems, the game centers on peaceful routines and small daily accomplishments as players rebuild life on a quiet island. It blends familiar farming mechanics with a charming shop management element, creating an experience that encourages players to slow down, cultivate crops, care for animals, and interact with the island’s whimsical inhabitants while gradually restoring balance to the environment. The story begins with the player arriving on Sugardew Island after a shipwreck leaves them stranded far from civilization. What initially appears to be an untouched paradise soon reveals signs of decline. The once thriving island ecosystem has fallen into disorder after humans disrupted the magical Harmony Tree that once protected the land. Thorny weeds cover large portions of the island, the forest folk have grown wary of outsiders, and the natural balance has begun to fade. With no easy way to leave, the protagonist decides to settle on the island and help restore harmony by farming the land and supplying goods to the local community. The narrative is simple but effective, providing a clear purpose for the player’s actions while maintaining the peaceful tone that defines the experience. Farming is the core of the gameplay loop and follows many of the conventions established by classic life-simulation titles. Players prepare soil, plant seeds, water crops, and harvest the results once they mature. Different crops require different amounts of time to grow, encouraging players to plan their planting schedule and manage daily tasks efficiently. The farming system is intentionally streamlined, avoiding overly complex mechanics so that players can easily settle into a comfortable rhythm of planting and harvesting. Gathering resources such as wood, stone, and weeds is also part of daily life, allowing players to craft improvements and expand their farming capabilities over time. What truly distinguishes Sugardew Island from many other farming games is its emphasis on running a farm shop. Instead of simply shipping harvested goods through a menu system, players must physically manage a small storefront where customers visit to browse and purchase products. Crops, animal goods, and crafted items can be placed on display shelves, and customers will approach the counter to make their purchases. This shopkeeping element adds a layer of interaction and personality to the game’s economy. Players can even negotiate prices with customers, which introduces a small strategic component as they decide whether to accept an offer or push for a better deal. Animal care is another important aspect of farm life. Players can raise a variety of animals that provide resources such as milk, eggs, and other useful materials. Like crops, animals require regular care and feeding, reinforcing the daily routine that defines the gameplay. Over time, players develop a bond with their animals, and pets can accompany the player while exploring the island. These companions add a layer of charm and warmth to the experience, reinforcing the cozy atmosphere that the game aims to deliver. Progression in the game is tied closely to the Harmony Tree, the mystical centerpiece of the island’s ecosystem. By fulfilling requests connected to the tree—usually involving selling certain items or gathering specific resources—players gradually restore the island’s magical balance. As the Harmony Tree recovers, new tools, seeds, animals, and exploration areas become available. This system provides a clear sense of direction while still allowing players to approach the game at their own pace. Visually, Sugardew Island adopts a colorful and inviting art style that perfectly complements its relaxed gameplay. The environments are filled with bright vegetation, soft lighting, and cheerful character designs that make the island feel alive. The forest folk themselves resemble small magical creatures that add a touch of fantasy to the setting. Their quirky personalities and gentle interactions help make the island feel welcoming rather than lonely. Accompanied by calming background music and ambient nature sounds, the visual presentation reinforces the feeling of living in a peaceful rural retreat. The game’s design philosophy strongly emphasizes accessibility and relaxation. There are no harsh deadlines or demanding time pressures, allowing players to enjoy farming and shopkeeping without worrying about missing critical opportunities. Even repetitive tasks like watering crops can eventually be simplified through upgrades or fertilizers, reducing the need for constant manual work. This approach ensures that the game remains approachable for players who want a stress-free experience rather than an intense simulation. However, the same simplicity that makes the game relaxing can also limit its long-term depth. Because the gameplay revolves primarily around farming and shopkeeping routines, some players may find the daily cycle becomes repetitive after extended sessions. The systems are intentionally streamlined, meaning there are fewer complex mechanics compared to larger farming simulators that feature elaborate town relationships, seasonal systems, or large exploration areas. Players seeking deeper strategic gameplay may feel that the experience lacks variety. Despite these limitations, Sugardew Island succeeds in delivering exactly what it promises: a peaceful and comforting farming adventure designed to be enjoyed at a slow pace. The combination of crop cultivation, animal care, shop management, and island restoration creates a satisfying loop that rewards patience and creativity. Its charming visuals and gentle progression make it particularly appealing for fans of cozy games who enjoy relaxing simulation experiences. Overall, Sugardew Island – Your Cozy Farm Shop stands as a delightful entry in the growing genre of cozy life simulations. While it may not provide the complexity or scale of some farming games, its focus on warmth, simplicity, and relaxation makes it an enjoyable escape from more demanding titles. Players looking for a calm island life filled with crops, animals, and friendly customers will find plenty to appreciate in its charming world. Rating Score: 7/10
