Beat it in 3 hours, it was pretty fun, when you get lost its best to try and talk to people, Looking like they set themselves up for sequel i hope they do
Short and neat. Most puzzles are fairly straight-forward, most of the time the hard part is to remember where you've seen this or that item before or where a hotspot was matching the description you've just heard of. This is not always that much fun, but at least there is no moon logic aka bruteforcing required. Plus, there's a clever multi-layered hint-system included, and there is an option to hide some unimportant hotspots. And there are many of those. Sometimes the game had resembles The Sea Will Claim Everything, being cluttered with tons of hotspots per screen, but many of them are obviously just fluff. You can see the dedication the dev put into this game here. The interface is simplistic and smooth for the most part. The protagonst jumped a bit often in front of a hotspot covering it from my click, and those misclicks made me going through some lines I've already read many times before, but besides that it works quite well. The story is kinda minimalistic, the presentation is light-hearted and funny (albeit sometime jokes feel a bit forced). Regarding the playtime: It took me 5 hours including idle time and lots of voluntary unnessecary interactions with fluffy hotspots, and I think that's all you get out of it. If you're aiming for achievements you might need a bit longer since you might screw up one of those while figuring out the mechanics of the related puzzles at (means you've got restart from the beginning due to autosave), and you have to find collectibles (I think I found all but one without really searching for them). No must-play, but recommended for a relaxed evening where you've the time to read lots of descriptions. I would play it in one session because then it's easier to remember stuff you've seen before. But if that's not possible, you can still resort to the hint system. :)
I love this game. It’s offbeat but not silly. In some ways, it feels like it’s a point and click adventure from another planet. In the beginning of the game, our hero Clodomir falls in a garbage pit and comes across a strange underground society filled with odd characters. Subterraneous is a joy to play. I think the art is beautiful and the point-and-click interface is really easy to use, I wish other games would follow suit. There’s also lots and lots of flavor text! This game deserves a lot more attention, please check it out.
Bon jeu , je recommande
It's actually a decent game. I don't understand why it doesn't get more attention. I really liked the story, although it isn't as funny as I hoped it would be. The characters all seem interesting. The puzzles aren't difficult, but there's a decent quantity of them and they all are good enough. Also, it gives you enough hours of playing in order to justify its price. All in all, I enjoyed it and you'll most probably enjoy it too. Good job, developers. Till next time, don't forget to point & click!
Subterraneus is a really fun "third-rate" PnC game where we control Clodomir, a snails race fan, who accidentally fell into the garbage collection hole one day. Finding himself alive, but miles underground, he will have to hurry to find a way to go back to the surface before the start of the next snails race! As we explore this strange world littered with garbage, we will encounter all kind of very unusual characters. I found the art style really nice and the UI very well-thought and simple to use. And if we are stuck, the log book contains hints to help our progress. The least we can say is that the game does not take itself seriously. It uses humor at every corners and has a plethora of well-known cultural references. The game is also rife with objects of all kind that can be looked at. I highly recommend looking at everything as the comments are quite fun to read. I don't think I looked at that many mushrooms kinds ever. In all, that was quite a well-made and fun game to play that I recommend to any PnC aficionado.
Short but very cozy game! Also includes one of the best most useful hint systems I have encountered in a point-n-click.
