(Fair warning: I was a primary bug tester for this game and made an account entirely to test it on steam.) So, steam tyrant is a horror stealth game with inanimate (but still moving) transformations. I don't enjoy either of those two things, but both are well made. If the measure of quality in game is how well it creates the feeling it's going for while being enjoyable to play, then the game is high quality. Horror part: It is a high damage combat combined with respawning enemies to reward stealth rather than going rip and tear. It takes elements from early resident evil games. As a result, a lot of the gameplay is exploration/fleeing to find the resources you need to keep up with enemies and keys to unlock new areas. If that is your thing it's a scary experience, particularly when stronger enemies start stalking you. Combat is either rapidly clicking or a tense turn based style encounter. Both have an element of randomness to prevent you from always using the best strategy. It has a pretty neat mechanic to help encourage exploration and reduce frustration. I won't spoil what it is though. However it encourages replays to find the optimal ways to move through the game. inanimate transformations: These are well done with pictures for each step of the transformation. If that's what you enjoy there is a lot to discover. In conclusion: If those two things appeal to you, then you will have a good time. If not, it's harder to tell if you will enjoy it. It wasn’t for me but I really enjoy the other things the studio makes and it’s always fun to help shape a new project.
Bizarre little game, a mixture of old school text adventure with a graphical set up and command menu system (doesn't have every command but has most) with survival horror and a turn based card focused combat system. It works, though, and I highly recommend playing on easy because the last difficulty swing is just brutal. The premise is you, your little brother, and your best friend/love interest end up coming to a mysterious mansion filled with living dolls and have to find a way out and figure out what's going on here. The art is a bit odd at times, but the writing is often great, descriptive and filled with character, capturing the voice of characters from across a wide selection of genres. It's satisfying to figure out a puzzle, exploration is constantly rewarded, there's a lot of endings to find, and the world building is surprisingly in depth. Also there's a Bloodborne character here for some reason.
For the price it asks, it's an alright game, if you're a fan of storytelling and transformations, you will enjoy 5 hours of this, another 4 if you go for hard mode. If you buy this for the card aspect of this game, you'll be left disappointed, it's very superficial, there's so little you can do to change your deck, so much so I'm sure you can finish the game from the beginning to the end without ever modifying the deck.
Interesting game mechanicks and uniqe story. Not for the avrage user.
Hehe, Spooky dolls,Claygals and Mrs X. go brrrr.
Its a super good game. spooky monsters, optional romance, the ability to become spooky monsters and hunt down your former friends. not to mention a real good story, and unique battle system.
This is a good game. A bit small for my taste, but the atmosphere makes up for it. Fighting most enemies feels dangerous and the further you go off from the beaten path, the more scary it is to open doors and the more carefully you play. By the end of the game, that feeling dies down a bit - you've learned the mechanics and found the best equipment, but it happens late enough to complete the game due to the story (also quite curious).
