About
STRANGE BREW is a cinematic 3D action platformer with intense chases that feel like a zombie movie. Run to evade, throw beans to distract, and use environmental traps to slow, smash or zap the hordes. Expect non-stop mayhem, absurd story beats, screams/laughs, as you play as a duck mascot with a coffee addiction.

Drop or throw coffee beans to lure and trick zombie hordes. Be clever. To top the leaderboard, Joe must take risks to orchestrate mass murders for monster point totals.

Expect to always be chased and harassed. Swat through the chaos, leap from tall buildings, and make good use of environmental hazards. Save yourself to take the fight to them.

Strange Brew is awash in atmospherics and cinematic moments. Find yourself behind the DJ booth at a warehouse rave, or atop a monorail screaming out of control, or summiting the nuclear cooling tower. Drink it up!

Seek different paths to unlock secrets, like fabulous additional costumes. Switch to the '68 Living Dead Mode to experience this apocalypse in black-and-white.

Fun little game. A good balance of zombie adrenaline and relaxing arcade game. Worth it for the price.

I'm not much of a speedrunner or a platformer but I genuinely enjoyed playing the first few levels of Strange Brew a lot! It's a very whimsical game, the setting and premise are really fun. The game had some rough edges on launch but the devs are actively working on fixes and improving how smooth it feels so I wouldn't consider that a reason not to purchase. The levels were still enjoyable and the mechanics are really silly in a good way. The artstyle and gameplay make it quite nostalgic to PS1/PS2 games, but there are difficulty settings which isn't always a given in retro games, so that's nice 🤭
Strange Brew is a fun but challenging indie platforming game. I enjoyed the mechanic of the coffee being your energy and life which had me stressing when I got low. The level design was fun and there are a lot of easter eggs and details to find if you have a sharp eye, one of my favourite parts is the speed run potential I see for the game as certain coffees can give you big movement buffs and love to see new skipping tech. Overall an indie banger that I would def recommend.
SCARY!!! But so fun! And scary, I don't like getting chased but dammit this game is fun! Love the voice acting in this! Excited to achieve 100% on it. Really looking forward to what the makers do next for games!
A fun little runner with a few rough edges~ My honest thoughts: You can get lost REALLY easily.. You're at the mercy of figuring out where to go strictly by collectables and the camera being.. functionally helpful. Would find myself trying to blindly figure out gambling if its the intended route in order to progress. If you stray off the path.. You either get stuck and die eventually.. Or the camera clips through the wall.. Or you can't really see your character.. Or the distance between your character and the camera is pretty obviously unintentional.. The climbing and collision between your character and objects can be pretty questionable a lot a of the time. Be it sometimes running into gaps when its the intended doorway path.. Or just your character climbing twice over a single "painted climbable object ledge". (May have been fixed recently post patch) Kinda wish for a little more narrative as to why you're this character in a Duck Costume.. running to either BE the mascot of this Pumpkin Spice coffee drink.. or to try it themselves. It just kind of.. gives the premise of the world at the beginning. Then just rushes you level to level. I played the game up to trying to progress through level 8. Medium difficulty had some pretty punshing damage zones. As it stands.. Great concept and fun little game. Cool Aesthetic and level design. But feel like it could've used a little more testing.
This is the best game i've ever played. I gooned at the start, gooned at the middle. And I still havent recovered from my final goon
Lots of fun so far, like a horror-themed Maze Runner or Pac Man but a bit more diverse gameplay
