the most realistic game ever made and ever possible to be made
This game is great. Almost everything is made well here; the movement, the weapons variety, the soundtrack and atmosphere. If you want a somewhat challenging Sci-Fi shooter with fast-paced combat, good soundtrack and well-made levels, this game is for you. Pros: - The developers have integrated "unique" elements that are always present in the zones, regardless of what was generated by procgen. This means, for example, that (at least in my experience) you'll always encounter many unique handcrafted elements, such as
the "survivor" on the very first level that will offer you stuff if you won't shoot them.
- Weapon variety is great, you have a lot of options, and many of the guns scattered around can be used for general purpose combat. - You can dodge almost anything once you master the strafe movement the developers implemented; they cranked the diagonal speed up to something like 2x, so you are almost flying through the levels on top speed. - cute frog aliens Cons: - Had a problem with launching it on Windows 10, had to apply a patch from Steam Guides. - Some very MINOR jank, for example enemies can damage you through walls at some obvious places; level entry points, for example. Subjective: - Great soundtrack. Overall, this is an excellent game. Even though it's a bit on the shorter side, I can't complain - I've kind of rushed through, and STILL has gotten 4 (3.9) hours out of it at the time of writing this review. Considering that I plan to make another run, and that there are other 3 gamemodes, this game was well worth it.
IMO. Not very fun and too difficult. I have tried to get into this game many times. Each time, I die too soon, get really frustrated and uninstall it again. The graphics and the mechanics therein aren't retro, they're poorly done. It looks like a game made with the old game maker system, if you know what that is.
worst fps game i have ever played. im being serious like this is genuine ♥♥♥♥ just play doom with obsidian level generator this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks theres like nothing it stinks now give me clown award because ik steam users cant stand the truth no actually just play doom
FR/EN STRAFE : Gold Edition
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3650757234
---FR---
STRAFE is a fast-paced, high-octane run-and-gun game. You find yourself trying to escape an experimental base, blasting your way through the levels with weapons you find. The action is frenetic, and you have to keep your eyes peeled. You'll be jumping around, constantly checking every nook and cranny to uncover the hidden secrets the game is brimming with. The challenge is definitely there, and you'll find yourself playing game after game with relish. The music sets the high-energy tone and propels you forward with a killer rhythm. You accumulate points with each playthrough, which allow you to unlock various modifiers on subsequent runs. Unlocked secrets add a little extra decoration to the main hub. You can also unlock teleporters that let you start your run further into the game. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3650756778
---FR---
The levels are randomly generated on a predetermined structure. In addition to the main game mode, there's also a survival mode where the goal is to last as long as possible in an arena. You must spill as much blood as possible by killing successive waves of attackers. This collected blood unlocks upgrades for subsequent attempts. Ultimately, the game is captivating and encourages players to replay it to progress further. The pace is relentless, leaving no room for respite, and you'll need many hours of gameplay if you want to unlock all the achievements. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3650757119
Game won't launch, freezes on first screen
Strafe harder!
An extremely mediocre retro FPS. Gameplay feels a bit odd, weapons feel unrewarding to use. It's a "roguelike" but you don't get anything out of re-playing the game, it just has procedural generation and basic weapon choice. Because of randomly generated levels, sometimes you'll turn in circles trying to find the last key you need to open a door, keys items drop on the floor like any random items, so sometimes you don't even know what you're looking for. Most of the machines and items in the game aren't explained at all, you just have to guess how they work. Levels and enemy variety isn't great, you get bored of killing the same enemies again and again on the first playthrough. Overall very boring game, with lackluster gameplay, legit no reason to buy it when there are so many much better retro FPS around.
I remember this game being promising, but by the time it came out I knew to have killed my hopes for it. The soundtrack is about as good as it gets, but everything about the gameplay falls short. It's poorly designed, and in some places, it's very obvious that it was never even finished. Not a particularly good time at any point.
Очень нравится эта игра. В ней есть, конечно, некоторые недостатки, о которых справедливо писали предыдущие авторы комментариев, но если для вас эти минусы не будут критичными, то игра, скорее всего, вам очень понравится
