The program phones out in order to run. Do not usually play any online games. If you have your network off this game will be stuck as "login in progress"

Localization is not finished, controls sometimes do not respond, config settings are very limited. Gameplay is not bad but I would prefer to be able to zoom out more. UI sometimes gets in the way so could use a bit of rethinking.

I hate that I played this and liked it till I found out the art was AI. Now I feel cheated. And they're thinking of possibly making this a paid product? Disgusting.
Игра 'Stop Breaking My Castle!'
interesting concept. its a reverse rougelike. instead of being the hero taking on hordes of monsters, youre the monster leader (queen) and you summon monsters to defeat the heroes and protect your castle. when you first start out you will more than likely get stomped into the ground. as you progress and do more runs you earn money to buy upgrades and eventually you will more than likely hold off the heroes but since im just starting out ive been getting my butt whooped by the heroes! im sure it will be fun to stomp the heroes after you get strong enough to hold them off but getting your butt whooped is never a good time. if you enjoy rougelikes and anime style art with pixel graphics this is gonna be right up your alley.
Very very fun!!! And this is just the demo?! Can't wait for he full game!!!
Warning: AI Slop This game is partially or completely made with talentless, soulless AI generated content.
"Stop Breaking My Castle!" is a bunch of AI slop assets dumped on a very basic mobile app tier tower/soldier defense game template... you know the deal, buy units etc and plonk them around the map to fight off waves of AI slop enemies. The crappy gameplay seems to indicate this might have been vibe coded, which would push the AI slop beyond just the visuals and all through the game. Whether this is vibe coded or not, it feels like it, and that's enough of a reason for gamers to reject this. Which they did. This hasn't been updated since 5 months. While it may not be abandoned yet, it's rotting in development hell and it's probably never going to be finished. This unfinished game is just polluting Steam and making it even more difficult for gamers to find actual, finished games. While I couldn't find this on the mobile app stores, everything about it looks and feels like it's a mobile app designed for mobile phones... for PC gaming enthusiasts, it's not going to give you a cutting edge PC gaming experience. That alone is enough to disqualify this from any recommendation. We don't spend thousands building gaming rigs so that we can pretend they're iPhones and play iPhone games and mobile apps. This features really godawful pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded despite the bad graphics, not because of them. Worse, the pixelcrap is really godawful, "wrong" looking AI slop instead of genuinely and sincerely created game assets. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating real game assets or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks bad because of that decision. AI slop sticks out like a sore thumb... and it comes across as insulting. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too, and that's glaringly obvious here. The developer chose not to do the job of a real game developer and create meaningful bespoke levels, narrative based gameplay progression and so on. Instead, they decided that "Procgen IS content!" and lazily tried to use procgen algorithms to create infinite, samey, repetitive, soulless levels, because that's a lot less work. As a result of this poor decision, the game gets tired and repetitive almost immediately. Developers must learn that procgen is a terrible substitute for creating real content. It should not be used as "ez-mode" for content creation, as the developer tried to do here. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. In terms of public reception, the "free" price tag didn't help. This peaked at a handful of players and then immediately cratered. With a peak count of less than 50 gamers (out of over 130 million gamers and over 40 million daily logons), it’s safe to say the PC gaming community has collectively decided to ignore this, probably because of the reasons supplied in this review. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Give this one a miss. Although it's free, your time and storage are valuable resources, and the market is filled with superior options. The use of AI slop is a direct insult to gamers and real, ethical content creators and artists everywhere. At the end of the day, my reviews are intended to help gamers find quality and avoid the dregs (with over 140,000 games on Steam... not all of them are masterpieces). If you think my review is wrong, definitely add this to your library, download it and play it... it's surely exactly the kind of game you'll love (but I doubt it will work out that way). Game reviews are for gamers to share their thoughts and help others choose where to spend valuable time. If my review helps you to grab or reject this game, then my job is done.
