About
Get ready to explore, discover and interact with a multitude of species as you journey among the stars. Forge a galactic empire by sending out science ships to survey and explore, while construction ships build stations around newly discovered planets. Discover buried treasures and galactic wonders as you spin a direction for your society, creating limitations and evolutions for your explorers. Alliances will form and wars will be declared.
Like all our Grand Strategy games, the adventure evolves with time. Because free updates are a part of any active Paradox game, you can continue to grow and expand your empire with new technologies and capabilities. What will you find beyond the stars? Only you can answer that.
Stellaris now includes the base game, three expansion packs, and a collection of digital goods.
Stellaris: Chart a vast, procedurally generated galaxy where every star system holds a new mystery to uncover or an alien civilization to encounter. Forge a unique empire: from your first warp jump to galactic domination, you decide whether the universe remembers you as a benevolent pioneer or a relentless conqueror.
Utopia: Unlock the full potential of your empire with this expansion focused on the evolution of society. Whether you're building mega-structures or ascending to a higher plane of existence, Utopia helps you create a future that’s as bright as the stars themselves.
Synthetic Dawn Story Pack: Take command of a Machine Empire and reshape the galaxy in your own image. Will you lead your mechanical creations to peaceful coexistence, or will the rise of synthetic life spell the end for organics?
Humanoids Species Pack: the most-played phenotype now gains more variety with unique civics and a new origin. Along with their own unique ship class, new portraits, and more, there’s never been a better time to explore the future of humanity.
And on top of this, the Digital Collector’s Book, a Signed Wallpaper, a Unique Forum Avatar and Icon!
Every game begins with a civilization that has just discovered the means to travel between stars and is ready to explore the galaxy. Have your science ships survey and explore anomalies, leading you into a myriad of quests, introducing strange worlds with even stranger stories and discoveries that may completely change your outcome.
With characteristically complex unique planets and celestial bodies, you will enter a whirlwind of spectacles in a highly detailed universe.
Through customization and procedural generation, you will encounter infinitely varied races. Choose positive or negative traits, specific ideologies, limitations, evolutions or anything you can imagine. Interact with others through the advanced diplomacy system. Diplomacy is key in a proper grand strategy adventure. Adjust your strategy to your situation through negotiation and skill.
An eternal cycle of war, diplomacy, suspicions and alliances await you. Defend or attack with fully customizable war fleets, where adaptation is the key to victory. Choose from an array of complex technologies when designing and customizing your ships with the complex ship designer. You have a multitude of capabilities to choose from to meet the unknown quests that await.
Grow and expand your empire with thousands of randomly generated planet types, galaxies, quests and monsters lurking in space.
Customize your Empire! The characters you choose, be it a murderous mushroom society or an engineering reptile race, can be customized with traits like ethics, type of technology, form of preferred space travel, type of habitat, philosophies and more. The direction of the game is based on your choices.

Single player game asking for 10€/month subscription.... Yeah, nah. They could just release the DLCs as part of the game and have happy players.
FIX THE BUGS!!!!!!!!! Don't buy DLC!!! The half of them is broken!!!!
i dont recommend this game anymore, this game used to be way better than now but paradox finds a way to ruin the game every second update, first like every other pdx game it has to have 30dlc's of wich most are just mods locked behind a paywall, some mods like gigastructural engeniering or dark space add more features/origins or megastructures than most of pdx dlc's, second the performance of this game is absolutly horrible,if you dont turn of any empires and only allow pre ftl civilizations at game start you bascicly cant play this game past the early/mid game, and how is the performance so bad if the ai builds like no fleets and have those horrible managed planets?pdx should make it so that ai planets have a base ammount of resource production so that the game has to do less calculations, but that whould take development time from developing the 20th slop dlc with 3new origins and 5new civics, and the 4.3 update was supossed to "improve" performance by reducing ship counts,in reality it just made the game less realistic and the performance with many ai empires is still terrible, that had the negative side effect of making average to below average players struggeling even more with endgame criseses and fallen/awakened empires, third, they break the game in every third update, for example in the last update they had to change the megastructure building ui for no reason, that broke multiple megastructures in gigastructural engeniering and it also it broke the display of the output of megastructures and they also reworked the automation ui for science and construction ships wich also broke ui overhaul dynamic a mod that should be part of the base game. in conclusion i dont recomend buying the game if you dont have a nasa supercomputer or have too much money, also dont buy the dlc subscription, just pirate the dlc's to test them out and if you like them you can buy them but i whoulnt give this terrible companie that releases early acces games at launch and only makes them good after 15dlc's and or patches, they dont need the money, they have enough and use it for the absolutly wrongs thing.
I used to love this game but I will never support a developer who uses AI generated content. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
Before I state anything, I would like to say that yes, this is a game that I have put a lot of hours into, and one that I still do enjoy, however, I simply can no longer recommend it with full confidence after paradox have decided to use ai in place of real voice actors. Generative ai is a Cancer toward the very idea of human creativity as a whole and while I have no intentions of dropping the game myself after this long of a time playing it, I will no longer be monetarily supporting anything this company makes after the fact and will be dissuading others from doing so. please, if you are considering getting this, perhaps instead put your money toward a Developer that actually respects the creatives upon which the very bones of this hobby is built.
I love this game but you need to take all the AI gen ♥♥♥♥ out of it immediately.
In fact, Stellaris can be considered one of the most pragmatic real-time strategy games. Perhaps the most common trend and, if I may say so, the problem of many strategies is the radical imbalance between the economic and military aspects of state simulation. Typically, strategies prioritize either the military or the economic simulation. However, Stellaris stands out for its well-balanced approach to these two distinct areas. Yes, they are not implemented as meticulously as they could be implemented individually, but the current level of development in the game is sufficient for an interesting, engaging, and most importantly, multi-scenario game. This is why I can confidently say that Stellaris is one of the most pragmatic strategies that does not limit the player's freedom.
its alright the reason i play it mostly is the mods playing as the UNSC from halo fullfillng my dream of a halo navy game but it updates so reguarlly and with such drastic changes so often it kills a lot of the mods
