So far love the game, it needs work, but honestly I like it far better than Homeworld. As I've tried to play homeworld (The space ones and not desert one as that one is great). The controls for me are far easier to use and i got the hang of it pretty fast. Love being able to unlock more and more ships via destroying enemy ships then you can edit your fleets and make them fit your playstyle. Campaign is pretty good, needs a bit of work tbh, like being able to go into the next mission without going back to the select screen. Keep your eye on this one and let the devs cook more, hope to see may updates, dlc etc in the future.
A little rough around the edges but has a lot of promise. Hopefully will have an active modding community come full release.
Absolutely the worst piloting system I've ever seen. The mechanism in place to show where the "Lead" should be for an enemy craft is so far off it's not even funny. Genuinely might have better luck turning hud off completely when piloting a ship. The most frustrating controls I've ever dealt with. Outside of that, the feel of the core gameplay is good. Just needed to tell yall you ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up big time with the piloting controls. WHERE THE ♥♥♥♥ AM I AIMING? THERES NO REFERENCE FOR DEPTH OF FIELD.
Really nice games from someone who's old school rts. Little janky but nothing you can't get over. Visuals look good but can't wait for the expanded settings down the line. Would need optimisation - likely why there aren't extra graphic settings. Nice beta and looking forward to the future.
Currently not worth the 20 euros it costs. It has potential, but now it's imho nearly unplayable. My biggest complaint are the controls. They feel bad, like really bad. Whole game is in 3d, yet the controls are suitable for 2d at most, and even then they would be bad. You are not able to easily move in the 3d space. You have no idea where on the Z axis anything is. All movement and contruction is done on a 2D plane, with optional move on the Z axis, but you have no idea where youre acutally placing something. If the controls would change drastically, it would be good. I tried their campaignette, and I must say the 3rd mission is just garbage. I have no idea why the devs tried to make 3rd person flying shooter in RTS game. The controls, again, just suck. The mouse movement is too large and the ship is not even shooting where you're aiming. One of inspirations this game had was supreme commander. I don't see it anywhere. Maybe it's supposed to be power plants and metal refineries? No idea. The economy feels strange. In both homeworld and supreme commander you were able to queue units/structures even when you did not have enough resources, here you need all of them, but it gets even stranger. When you want to strat building a structure, you need all of the resources, or you're not able to start. You can actually queue more structures than you can, but once you run out of money, the building gets canceled (for structures only), this is not indicated anywhere and sometimes you just thing where are some structures you queued. For ships it's different for some reason, they sit in queue until you have enough resources. I think with big changes in the controls it would be much better game, and I could recommend it. Hopefully it'll change when it's out of early access. It would also be great to see some improvements in the inner workings of the game, so you don't have different systems and queues for the "same" build command. Edit: Lot of things have changed. My biggest problem, the camera controls, now allows Homeworld like controls, which feel much better. There are still some things I hope will change, but now it feels good to play the game.
Stellar Warfare, Red Alert’ın üs kurma dinamiklerini Homeworld’ün 3 boyutlu derinliğiyle harika harmanlamış. Oyunun en can alıcı noktası kesinlikle Ship Editor.
This is quite fun! It's almost everything I wanted in a space RTS game.
