Steel Eagle is a reference to the 80's and 90's shooters. Your task is to reach the landing pad at the end of the level, destroying as many enemy units as possible, for which you collect points that can be exchanged for force and strength, which allows you to upgrade your “Steel Eagle”.
TL:DR
Classic shoot 'em up game stacked with a plethera of enemies trying to demolish you... 8-bit style!
The Good Stuff
+Good old arcade style that pays homage to the 80s and 90s games +A fun 8-bit soundtrack +The sound effects in the game are very 8-bit sounding. I swear getting by a missile is literally someone saying "oof" and then some effects added on which makes it rather entertaining to get killed +Collect health and points by destroying the enemies, the former giving you extra lives and the latter allowing you to upgrade your force (See "The Ok Stuff") and strength (overall health) +Great enemy design, multiple varieties with different health, sizes and methods of destroying you +Simple controls plus a user manual to check up on them (However, Q is an odd key for quitting the game as opposed to Esc) +Game runs smoothly in both a windowed version and fullscreen, I prefer the windowed version to give a nice classic atmosphere with the small resolution +Potential. I can see it.
The Ok Stuff
=There's not many songs in the game so it's slightly repetitive, also they tend to transition oddly in an abrupt fashion =The game forces you to type your name in the hall of fame every time you exit, and instead of going back to the main menu the game closes itself. Would rather have it be where you enter your name in the hall of fame every time you lose all of your lives versus simply exiting the game, and return to the main menu instead of the game closing itself (At least I prefer heading back to the main menu in games before shutting it down) =I'm assuming force is how fast you're going, but I didn't notice a difference in speed or in any other aspect of the Steel Eagle (Got it up to 8)
The Bad Stuff
-The movement speed of the Steel Eagle itself seems very slow. I like the fact that it doesn't go backwards and instead stops in place, but moving left and right is difficult and stagnant. It's slow enough to where turrets and missiles will more than likely hit you without a chance of evading them, thus most of the time you die is to the fact you're slow versus user error -There are sections where enemies become overbearing and overwhelming. This combined with the slowness of the Steel Eagle make it impossible to get past these sections with any ease or skill and require you to simply get through as soon as possible while taking major damage (About halfway through level 2 is an example of this) -With no consequences of using auto-fire (Click "A"), there is no point in having the spacebar as a manual method of shooting -No way to pause the game, could use a simple menu of simply "Return to Game" and "Quit to Menu" if anything
The Buggy Stuff
=When I move as far as I can to the far left or right of the screen, one of my streams of bullets disappears and does no damage. It does come back when I move away from the side =I cannot backspace when entering my name in the highscore list (I am jacksoncb1 & jakaryy in the list, first was a mistype)
The Truthful Hard Facts

Acquirement Method[th]Steam Curator System[/th]

Price Paid[th]Key provided by developer[/th]

Difficulty Played on[th]Normal[/th]

Rig Used[th]Main Computer[/th]

Check out my Steam group for more Reviews!
STEAM REVIEWS GROUP!
My YouTube Channel!
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4BQSDGExl23rHcd9ML2mRw Thanks again for the key to review this game enrju, good luck in further development!
