Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.71/day in the week to Aug 31 → 2.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

it does have a old school feel to it. only problem is way to short, and not much replay value but it was fun
its peak its so peak, do your part
Pretty good retro-ish shooting. Clearly made by fans of the franchise, and the story being an in-universe propaganda game makes any cheesiness fun rather than cringe. Shooting is more Halo than Doom as far as retro FPS goes, mission design is fairly repetitive but the combat is good fun so it's ok. ♥♥♥♥ the veteran plaza objective in that one mission, tho. There's also another campaign about half the length of the human one where you play as the main antagonist bug (of the game, not the og movie). Those missions are lowkey even more repetitive, pretty much every objective is destroy buildings>destroy main building, the main difference is the layout of the bases you destroy. It was fun enough for what it was and easier+shorter than the human campaign so it didn't feel like a chore even on the hardest difficulty, but I see myself replaying the human campaign for fun rather than the bug one. Overall, not a masterpiece of game design or anything, but it was fun as a callback to retro graphics/shooters and the og movie. If you're unsure if it's for you just play the demo, it has like the first two missions iirc. Hopefully they make a well-priced DLC with extra levels, I'd be down to play more of this.

This game is immense fun, its basically a game where you play it as a training simulator before being shipped off to the real bug war. This is why the humans are 2d sprits and everything else is 3d. The cuts scenes in-between missions are also fun to watch and there are random adverts as well. I played it on veteran and it is quite a challenge. 10/10
This one is very much for the fans of Starship Troopers. It borrows here and there from the movies and the anime, without acknowledging the more outlandish aspects of later live action movies, not the book. So no planet destroying bombs and no Sky Marshall except Diennes even if Juan Rico does hold the grade of General and has the eyepatch. As a game ST:UBW is fine, it's not going to reinvent the wheel and its also not all that memorable apart from the levels that directly reference the first movie like Camp Curry (Basic training), Zegama Beach, Klendathu and Planet P. 10/10 for nostalgia hit 5/10 gameplay. BTW: Yes it is possible to duplicate the grenade scene from the first movie, it takes some effort though.
This really is the ultimate Bug War! I love the 2D and 3D Mix it's so good. The action and missions never bore me. I can play this forever because: I'M DOING MY PART!
YES
its absolute peak
It plays like a forgotten console fps from 2003 and I mean that in the best possible way. Ultimate Bug War has charm and soul and knows what it is and makes a fun game out of it. Human gameplay is monster shooting on big battlefield 2142 maps with a dash of unit strategy and strikes. Bug gameplay is more strategy focused in general and requires a little bit of thought as you heard small bug waves towards human controlled objectives. and just steamroll them. Both are great but I do enjoy the Human campaign more though. Also for a modern game to have two female leads and somehow make me NOT shoot my monitor is a testament to the writing and voice acting. Which isn't amazing but it's decent and pulpy fun and it works. Game has some flaws though. It's a little rough around the edges in general. the hard difficulty is pretty easy while very hard feels like an untested nightmare. Controlled Troopers are a terrible enemy and make things not fun when they just pop up. There's bugs with the call in strikes, both friendly and enemy ai just shut off sometimes or ignore you all together. And while the writing and performances are entertaining the story is disjointed and sudden. It's explained as the game being an in Verhoeven Troopers universe videogame and it's broken up by charming and somewhat awkward skits depicting real life Dietz and Rico and others selling products or talking about the game but the plot in game focuses on the first bug war and going mission to mission just feels messy. With most things glossed over or flat out ignored and two levels in particular kind of making me wish they just stayed on plot. The human campaign is also fairly short with a base run being around 4 hours. Maybe a couple more missions would of been better or a maybe a co-op horde mode? Anyway this is a fun game. I enjoyed my time with it and I do recommend. Hopefully after Boltgun 2, Auroch will grace us with a sequel. One with co-op and a greater focus on the strategy stuff.
