A shallow clone of other, better space survival/exploration games.
Its fun for an hour then its just a bit boring to be honest . Its very buggy with block placement and that's why I quit, too frustrating having to keep deleting stuff and rebuilding. I'll maybe give it another try in a year or two.
Game freezes an obnoxious amount. Absolutly do not buy until its fixed
This game made me fall in love with the survival crafting genre all over again. It game has the foundation of what I've always wanted out of a space sim. More depth and complexity than No Man's Sky and more to do than Elite Dangerous. With multiplayer now working, I'm excited to see where this game goes. If you're like me and wanted more out of a space/survival crafter and don't mind a game still being rough around the edges, give this game a try. You won't regret it.
The game engine is clearly a masterpiece of solo development, it's clearly taken a lot of time and care to get it to this point where you can build ships and bases and explore the galaxy. There's still a lot of bugs, but they tend relatively small. Where the game currently falls over is the gameplay. The focus on development has been largely technical, and all gameplay systems currently implemented are very basic and shallow. If you wanna build fancy spaceships and enjoy making them fight each other, this is the one you've been looking for. If you're looking for a polished survival experience, it needs a little more time in the oven. It's clear there's something extremely special here.
Can't really recommend currently. The bugs are too constant and make playing the game hard. 1st bug I encountered when building a ship in survival, When removing a block that I no longer wanted on my ship it forced a small rotation of the rest of the platform I was building on. This eventually after deleting blocks rotating my entire build almost upside down and made building extremely difficult. 2nd major bug was when building a hovercraft I'd finished the basic build of it and just went to test thrust etc on the boat. Now I needed it to float in the air and to do that you attach a construction anchor this usually lets the thing you are working on float slightly above the ground so you can easily continue building and designing.. Well.. it floated off into space and became unretrievable...
It takes some time to learn all of the basics, but the more you play, the better it gets.
Jank. Constantly have to restart because mechanics fail. Fun to build in, but the rest of the game is a half a$$ed mess.
Devs allow mods. so that i can have like a billion different types of planets and weapons.
