This is light-years better than Cities Skylines in every comparable metric. It costs very little, it has endless free DLC in the form of fan-made downloadable plugins, all accessible from inside the game. It obviously runs like a dream, looks incredibly charming and sweet and offers tons of customization options, all wrapped up in a familiar Simcity gameplay loop. This is my favorite builder in all of Steam.

Believe it or not, this is the chillest city builder out there. Plus, you can expand your city using in the in-game plugin store? Amazing! 10/10.

Very well made City Builder! It reminds me most of the original Sim City & Sim City 2000 from back in the day. Good controls, awesome gameplay, atmosphere is good and the game is very charming and fun to play. The graphics might not be super amazing or on the level of say Cities Skylines, but they are good enough for an old school style City builder like this. If you love the old Sim City games give this one a try! There are also tons of user made things that you can use to which is pretty cool. Two Thumbs up and I will be playing a ton of this in the future when I need some chill old school style City Building :) 8.5/10

Consider it the spiritual successor to SimCity 2000. Great game, and well worth the money if you enjoy any city builder simulation type games, or if you find the concept interesting.

**TheoTown** is one of the best city-building simulation games I have played. It offers a huge amount of freedom, allowing you to design roads, residential areas, industrial districts, public transportation, and landmarks however you like. Watching a small town gradually grow into a massive modern city is incredibly satisfying, and the pixel art style gives the game its own unique charm. One of my favorite features is the depth of the city management system. Besides expanding your city, you also need to consider traffic flow, public services, education, healthcare, emergency response, and the city's economy. Every decision has an impact, making the gameplay both relaxing and rewarding. The active modding community also adds countless new buildings and content, giving the game excellent replay value. However, I strongly recommend playing the **PC version instead of the mobile version**. The PC version provides a much better experience, and many features and content are available without requiring extra purchases. In contrast, the mobile version feels heavily focused on in-app purchases. Many buildings, decorations, and useful content are locked behind premium currency, making it feel like you're constantly being encouraged to spend money. The difference between the two versions is much larger than I expected. Honestly, if you love city builders, you need to check this out. I’m a huge fan of the genre, and TheoTown totally hits the spot. The vanilla features already check all the boxes for what makes a great city builder, traffic management, zoning, utilities, it’s all there and works perfectly. But the biggest selling point for me is how lightweight it is. Because of the pixel art style, this game runs flawlessly on literally anything. I actually tested it on my absolute lowest-spec, potato setup just to see how it would handle a massive city, and it didn't even stutter. In a genre where games usually turn your PC into a space heater once your population grows, TheoTown being so optimization-friendly is a massive win On top of that, the modding community is super active. The plugin store is full of amazing custom buildings and features that keep the game fresh. Zero issues or crashes so far on my end. If you want a solid city builder that won't melt your PC, this is it. 8/10.

Super fun builder game, very happy that I picked this one up. The pixel art is beautiful, and the game itself is very cozy. I appreciate that there seems to be a large and active modding community (mods in this case are referred to as "plugins") that is easily accessible - plugins can be downloaded in game, and that's pretty cool :)

Phenomenal game. If Cities Skylines looked like Open TTD. Lots of plugins too.
