The developers have absolutely no idea how to handle balance and game design. When you first start, the game looks promising and visually appealing. However, after just two hours, you realize it isn't going anywhere. The first map of each run is incredibly basic and easy, featuring a tiny number of enemies that die in a single hit. That drastically changes on the very second map, which throws a massive wall of enemies at you that require multiple hits to bring down. To make matters worse, this isn't a true "bullet hell"—the enemies have guns, but they choose to blindly fly into you to ram your ship, dealing massive damage. Pretty suicidal chaps. The core issue is that even the fastest, most agile ship in the game is too slow and sluggish. The enemies fly faster and maneuver better than you can, even when your passive meta-progression skill tree is completely maxed out. Each ship starts with only one weapon, which is nowhere near enough to handle the barrage of enemies on screen. While other games in this genre give you active abilities to damage crowds and survive the onslaught, here you are entirely at the mercy of RNG. Additional weapons are tied to specific map rewards—if you get unlucky, you are forced to finish the entire run with just your single starting weapon. In similar titles like R.I.P., Jotunnslayer, or Greedland, leveling up grants you active skills that allow you to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Even when you fail a run, you know you are making tangible progress. Here? After three hours and a massive investment into the permanent upgrades, I still see no light. I have no idea how many dozens of times I am expected to grind these initial three maps before I am strong enough to defeat the first boss. This loop would be salvageable if the player ships weren't so incredibly sluggish, leaving you completely unable to evade the kamikaze swarms.
Good game, made it to the top 20 on the leaderboard but it's basically unplayable for any long period of time without the option to save and come back on a later run. IMO that should be the highest priority the devs focus on, it punishes you for having good runs if you can't save and come back. I'll still give it a positive review because it's a fun game and plays well but there's no worse feeling than getting into a run and getting a good build going then being locked into this app for 6-7 hours. *****Edit**** Save/Load has been added and all is right in the world.
Good start. But needs a lot more sectors, enemies, bosses and balancing. Score: 6/10. Better wait for a 1.0 release.
i love this game ... its awesome and fun. its improving fast and everything is well... expect its so bad optimised my pc crushes every hour ... it rans so hot i cant even touch my pc anymore because the whole case gets so got ... the cpu really BURNS... and i can play any modern games and my pc is a snoozefest doing it ... so there is a serious coding error that risks damaging my pc and as long as thats not fixed i cant reccomend the game
Cool concept, needs waaaaay more balancing.
First roguelike in a while I've been allowed to make a build so stupidly broken with chain reactions that it freezes so hard it then crashes. Love it.
very nice auto battler, loads to unlock. Runs smooth as butter on 5600x 3060 12gb even in the really chaotic moments. I keep getting stuck on "just one more run" mode. I think there is a demo, worth a try, great game for the price.... NO REGRETS!
Fun gameplay loop, and solid rouge-like elements!
FTL meets Survivals but doesn't require 30 min for a run. So far, happy with synergies. I unlocked all ships by now and still got a lot left to unlock.
Early access review: A great new sci fi version of a survivor's game where you get to pilot star ships against endless enemies. It's a lot of fun to unlock the various different ships and upgrades. The biggest downside the game has is that once you get a really good build going it become almost impossible to lose, I was going to go for the top spot on the leaderboards but after playing endless mode for eight hours straight I had about only a quarter of the score that first place had so it kind of killed that aspect of the game for me.
