EDIT: I just received a full refund for my Kickstarter badge. This is a fair procedure but it doesn't make this project better in any way

At best, Starfall Odyssey feels like an unpolished student project; at worst, it comes across as an attempt to scam people before the game is pulled from the store. Since I'm a kickstarter backer, there is no way to ask for a refund but I might yet be able to provide others from spending 10 bucks for this glorified tech demo. Let's start with a quote from the store page: "Starfall Odyssey boasts a compelling storyline that will immerse you as you unravel the mysteries of the cosmos. Are you ready to embark on the adventure of a lifetime? Join the Starfall Odyssey and explore the unknown!". Unfortunately, the game fails to deliver on that premise. Reading the ingredients of your shampoo while taking a shower feels more intriguing than this juxtaposition of text blocks. The gameplay qualifies for the souls-like genre because steering your ship is like fighting a boss without the rewarding rush of dopamine afterwards. You're literally flying from glowing box to box in space while reading a nonsensical story. I also imagine that there wasn't any time for playtesting after hammering together this collection of asset flips because when I changed my settings from Epic to High in the pause menu, the screen went blue and green, even after reloading. I had to reinstall the game to fix this issue. By now, I'm sure you get the idea so there is no need to spew more hostilities. Maybe this really is a student project ─ which still begs the question of where the money from kickstarter went ─ and there really weren't any bad intentions at work. If that's the case, a reality check was the least I could offer. In its current state, Starfall Odyssey is not worth anyone's money; It feels vastly more unpolished and unfinished than typical shovelware games you'll get in oversized itch.io bundles. I don't do this normally but as I am a Kickstarter for this game I need to warn people against purchasing but where do I start though... This game has the worst control method of not only any Space Combat game but potentially any game I have played in 46 years of gaming and what is worse is there is no way to change it. The "compelling storyline that will immerse you as you unravel the mysteries of the cosmos" the developer talks about is nothing more than text coming up on screen after interacting with a glowing box in the environment you took 20 minutes to navigate to due to the aforementioned terrible controls. The collision model is terrible, anything you hit stops you dead but doesn't seem to do any damage, at one point in the first area, I miss clicked and fired my rockets which hit a stationary ship on a landing pad and instead of blowing it up or damaging it, it flew off spinning into space. As this was something I could swap into and fly I chased after it only to to be told, less than a minute later, to return to play are with a 10 second timer that just kept hitting zero and resetting, moments later I ran out of fuel and just sat there stranded. At this point I just turned the "game" off so I never found what else is wrong but I hope the above gives you and indication as to why I needed to jump on and not only support the words of my fellow Kickstarter who has left a review but also ensure I did what I could to ensure no one else gets ripped off by this game.
Graphics crash and artifacting, Can't even see to play.....This wasn't ready for launch. Playtests have played better than this is
Kickstarter backer here. The game has had graphical glitches since day one; there has been no patch or solution since its release. I would definitely not recommend this game.
To put it politely, the game is a complete imposition. To call it a "release" is an insult to other indie developers. Currently, the game is a technical alpha at best. Graphic bugs, clipping errors, no real tutorial, not even the simplest sound files work. Some menus and loading screens are filled with placeholder text. I co-financed the game on Kickstarter because I was optimistic about what would be delivered here. Here, something not even a quarter finished is being thrown onto the market in order to meet a self-imposed deadline that was far too ambitious.
Also im jetzigen Zustand Finger weg.
Broken, Main menu opens but will not load items in the game. UI loads but everything else is pixels. 4
