I got this game a very long time ago, and really liked the game mechanics, but the technical issues due to the game engine made it unplayable late game until 2 weeks ago. The recent Jupiter update of the Black Box mod swapped the entire engine and brought it to the modern age with a 64bit engine. This solved almost all the performance and crashes that the game had. The content added by the Combined Arms Mod really gives the game the mission depth. Worth a try now.
good live play
the original Stardrive is buggy, but if you download the mods like any of the Stardrive Mars versions of the game, it is graphically great to play. But I find the Mars versions a little overwhelming when it comes buildings, there are just too many of the them, which spoils the game play for me. From my view the Stardrive extended v.03 is the best. Not only you keep the original CTRL+F1 cheats in research, but you also keep the zeno mining/Crash sites/ Ancient tombs, which I find missing out of the Mars versions of the game. The v.03 has the extra additions such as storm troopers added warehouses. extra weapons and other goodies makes this the v.03 best without being overwhelmed. Ohh, yes, Do not forget to downloaded the v.03 into the MOD's folder in your Stardrive game folder.
J’ai voulu bâtir un empire galactique. Résultat : ma flotte est partie en grève parce que j’ai oublié la bouffe. Un 4X spatial où tu passes 3h à optimiser tes vaisseaux pour te faire raser en 30 secondes par des aliens qui ont eu la même idée… mais mieux.
