STAR WARS™ Jedi Knight - Mysteries of the Sith™

Much better than Dark Forces 2 - the levels and story are actually coherent in this one. Still can't recommend it though as it requires mods to get it working.

Samostatně hratelný datadisk k Dark Forces 2 nabízí podobnou hratelnost jako základní hra. Ale opravdu jen podobnou. Jste sice už Jedi, takže máte nějaké síly (přibylo jich a je možné kombinovat temnou a světlou stranu) a světelný meč, jenže ty tam jsou zábavné lokace a solidní příběh z Dark Forces 2. Hra není zdaleka tak zábavná a ještě k tomu je hodně zákysová a to dokáže hodně znepříjemnit hraní. Zatímco v DF2 jsem zakysl asi jednou nebo dvakrát a musel jsem mrknout na video, tak tady mi přijde, že to bylo nepřetržitě. Takže rozumím smíšenému hodnocení. Navzdory tomu ale dám doporučuji, i když těsně. Příběh vysvětluje, proč se hlavní hrdina vzdal síly v pokračování Jedi Outcast, takže to je devíza hry

[h1]Un reto salvaje en el Universo Expandido[/h1] Esta expansión directa de Dark Forces II acierta de lleno al ponerte en la piel de Mara Jade y profundizar en el lado más oscuro de la Fuerza. Los poderes se sienten más variados, el ritmo es adictivo y el universo expandido brilla en cada misión. Eso sí, es un juego brutalmente difícil que no tiene piedad con el jugador. Te vas a perder más de una vez en sus escenarios y la ausencia de los vídeos con actores reales le quita un poco de personalidad respecto al original. Además, requiere parches de la comunidad para correr en tarjetas gráficas actuales. Un clásico exigente solo apto para Jedi pacientes. Mysteries of the Sith feels like a natural step up in difficulty from Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II, to the point that certain challenges feel even a bit unfair, but the point of this expansion is really to be clever about it which is told through the level design. For an expansion, there is a surprising amount of content. It comes relatively close to feeling as large as the original. Some levels are genuinely fun and exciting, with big open areas to explore, while others are mildly frustrating and confusing. Unfortunately, every level shares the same recurring problem: where the f*** do you go? Navigation was already confusing in Dark Forces II, but it is noticeably worse here. I had to use YouTube tutorials several times, and the final encounter in the game would have been impossible to understand without one. Figuring things out yourself can be rewarding, but I guarantee you'll eventually need help. Despite the frustration it was absolutely worth playing through for me. Is it perfect? Far from it. Is it worth it? I think so. To put it simply: If you really liked the first game and want more, this is it for sure.
