STAR WARS™ Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy™

Много слышал про эту игру, но никак не решался попробовать. Игра однозначно оправдала свой легендарный статус. Прошёл 2 раза подряд - ваниллу с двумя мечами и в мод Movie Duels с расчленёнкой с посохом. С расчленёнкой гораздо интереснее, я так и не понял боёвку этой игры, от моих атак практически не было урона. Расчленёнка делает геймплей гораздо бодрее, а боёвку проще Сюжетно ничего из себя не представляет, берёт исключительно геймплеем. Местами очень сильно напоминает Clone Drone in the Danger Zone, кстати. В первый раз проходил долговато, потому как геймдизайн этой серии игр - днище. Непонятно куда идти, что делать. В джедайской академии это ещё более-менее приемлимо реализовали хотя бы. А вот во втором прохождении игра засияла - всё уже известно, не надо отвлекаться на гайды Однозначно рекомендую поиграть, если ещё терзают сомнения - игра вошла в мой топ игр вообще

I actually really liked this game, it was much more fun and forgiving in regards to figuring out where you have to go to complete mission objectives compared to Jedi Knight II: Outcast. That was my biggest gripe with that one which caused me to not enjoy the game because I was constantly getting lost. There was a little bit of that in this one, but not as bad. Creating your character was a nice touch and this game series still remains the best when it comes to lightsaber combat. Getting the game to work however, was a pretty big pain. I had to use OpenJK and even then there were still issues with the occasional frame drops here and there. Overall though, I'm glad to have experienced it.

It is still amazing in 2025

I have a great love for Jedi Academy, spending countless hours playing this before buying it again on steam. This steam version is sadly not quite up to par, particularly the in-engine cut-scenes. Sometimes they work, but often the character models just stand in fixed positions while there is no dialogue. These cut-scenes can still be skipped, but if I was a first time player I would definitely be annoyed. Supposedly this problem can be fixed by changing the resolution and restarting, but it doesn't seem like a permanent solution. I still recommend the game overall, the lightsaber combat is still fun and I enjoy the missions. It's a good medium-sized Star Wars game, one of my favorites.
