Really fun game. Many different items, enemies and rooms! With multiple characters and each run is different. It's pretty hard but you get better over the time. Not much of a background story, more like an action jump'n'run game
Jump only works sometimes on the controller even after switching keybinds. After closing and relaunching, it's now glitched to the point that the sprite will barely move anytime I start a new game. It still needs work before it's in a playable state.
- Left spaceship - Killed 99 aliens - Explored whole dungeon - Got all upgrades - Got killed by giant blob of dirt 10/10 will try it on easy again

Title: Disappointing Journey Amongst the Stars: Star Rogue Review Star Rogue promises a thrilling adventure through the cosmos but ultimately falls short of its lofty aspirations, leaving players adrift in a sea of unfulfilled potential and frustrating design choices. As someone who embarked on this journey with high hopes, I feel compelled to share my candid assessment of this interstellar misstep. Gameplay (2/5): Star Rogue's gameplay suffers from a lack of cohesion and depth, offering little more than repetitive, uninspired shooting galleries set against procedurally generated environments. The core mechanics, while serviceable, fail to evolve or innovate beyond the initial novelty, resulting in a monotonous experience devoid of meaningful progression or strategic depth. The absence of compelling objectives or narrative drive further exacerbates the sense of aimlessness, leaving players to wander aimlessly through the void. Graphics and Sound (2.5/5): While Star Rogue's pixel art aesthetic exudes a nostalgic charm reminiscent of classic arcade shooters, it fails to capitalize on its potential to create visually stunning cosmic landscapes or dynamic space battles. The environments feel bland and uninspired, lacking the detail and variety necessary to immerse players in the vastness of space. Similarly, the sound design, while functional, fails to leave a lasting impression, with forgettable music and generic sound effects failing to elevate the overall experience. Replayability (2/5): Despite its procedurally generated nature, Star Rogue offers little incentive for repeated playthroughs beyond the initial curiosity of exploring different layouts. The lack of meaningful progression or unlockable content renders each run feel indistinguishable from the last, resulting in a shallow and forgettable experience that fails to captivate or engage players for more than a fleeting moment. Difficulty and Balance (2.5/5): Star Rogue's difficulty curve feels erratic and unbalanced, swinging between frustratingly punishing encounters and mind-numbingly easy stretches with little rhyme or reason. The scarcity of meaningful power-ups or upgrades exacerbates the sense of frustration, leaving players feeling ill-equipped to tackle the increasingly insurmountable challenges that lie ahead. The lack of strategic depth or meaningful decision-making further compounds the issue, relegating gameplay to a mindless exercise in repetition and attrition. Community and Support (3/5): While the developer has shown a degree of responsiveness to community feedback and concerns, the overall level of support and engagement leaves much to be desired. Updates and patches have been sporadic at best, with long stretches of silence punctuated by minor bug fixes or cosmetic additions that do little to address the game's fundamental shortcomings. The lack of transparency or communication regarding future plans or development roadmaps further erodes confidence in the game's long-term viability. Conclusion: In conclusion, Star Rogue falls short of its lofty ambitions, delivering a lackluster and uninspired experience that fails to resonate with players seeking a compelling journey through the cosmos. With shallow gameplay, bland visuals, and a dearth of meaningful content or replay value, it struggles to leave a lasting impression beyond its initial novelty. While there may be brief moments of enjoyment to be found amidst the stars, they are far too few and fleeting to justify the journey. Overall Rating: 2.3/5 - Not Recommended
